It's certainly possible. Was is naive to think it would be anything more? Probably.

I'm still keeping hope though that we might see something closer to the FR-S.

Maybe I define "close" differently.

Yeah I think ultimately looks comes down to that. We can all agree on measurable things like hp, tq, weight, 1/4mile times. But the physical aspect is harder to agree upon.

Hopefully this thing will be able to separate itself from other cars, the miata has done it in the $20K range, so i dont see why toyota(scion)/subaru can't

I think most of us can agree upon the performance we would like to see; lightweight, good handling, fun to drive..etc. But the looks are much harder to agree upon. What each of us wants it to look like is going to be different.

differences include
  • foglight area
  • headlight eyebrow thing
  • they added mirrors
  • also door handles
  • color?
only minor things that are inconsequential and can be overlooked

I see the lines remain the same, but the pillar is higher. Line is not as radical as it's in the concept form. Production looks more round and less aggressive. Production headlight looks retarded compares to concept. Production definitely looks bland and boring compares to the concept. To me, those aggressive lines mean a lot.

That looks about right for a production car...

People shouldnt be too surprise... the TARGET price is STILL 20K-25K USD....

In Australia, Toyota Sales have already confirmed they will sell it there and the shape is closest to the Mark II, minus the bells and whistles, and some body "lines" that was shown on the Mark III.
With price tag close to 35K-40K AUD.... thats CHEAP... even cheaper than the S15 and previous shape CELICAs.

Now... I do believe that they mentioned 2 grades, possible turbo TRD versions in the range of 50K AUD... not sure about US Scion version. Info. came from word of mouth from Toyota Sales Executives, so they "approximates" and not 100% to the T, but a good indication nonetheless.

The Mark III body kit/exterior kits makes a MASSIVE difference on the looks and I would love for them to offer it as EXTRAs.

The one thing thats a bit disappointing is that the stock suspension is ridiculously DATED.... almost ALL sports cars or sports models come with sports suspensions that lowers the car off the FACTORY.... Sure, we all can simply book a tuner and upgrade the suspensions, BUT thats not the point... MANY people will use the STOCK look as the representative LOOK and compare it to other coupes... it needs to be 1 to 1.5 inches lower.... if NOT... then it definitely NEEDS a PAIR OF SIDE SKIRTS!!!

Wasn't joking about the Enkei's though....ugly offset and design for that car.

Seriously, someone chop some work equips or something!
It's a freakin' prototype.

I guess they are still going with the rear light wedged into the trunk. Hopefully that wing will be an option too because that thing has got to go.

Door handles?

Those Wheels are pretty basic Enkei wheels. There's a ton of knockoffs of them. So maybe they are the knockoff brand?
