They replaced my vvti gears and solenoid but the cel came back leaving the dealership. They swapped my ecu and it has been good for 2k miles so far.

******my tune update*****
Holy crap so when I did my review yesterday the new flash must not have completely learned the car yet. The car feels like it has balls now. I have fallen back in love with my car again. My buddy who looked at the frs first but got a new Genesis took it for a ride and agreed he would have probably got the frs if the one he test drove felt like this. @Visconti - Is there a way to leave a deposit to get on the list for the Stg1 package and then pay the balance once you get the cables in stock? Would rather not have that much money tied up while waiting for a cable if possible.

I know that. He doesn't have cables in stock with an ETA of 60-90 days. I don't have my car yet. . .expected end of Sept. I would rather put a deposit down and then when he has cables in stock, pay the balance rather than tying up $1k right now.
Before you ask, yes. . I could wait until I got the car, but then I would be later on the list that he currently has. |

I don't have any tune or modification.. I was simply asking if your tune does anything for my dead spot.. It was doing this from the showroom floor.. Dealer already ordered a cam sprocket.. Looking to flash afterwards..

John, my common sense thinks you are the devil. Threw on the E85 tonight. I will be driving 20 minutes for gas for awhile. If I didn't know better I would never believe that the performance increase was just from a tune and grabbing a different pump handle. Thanks a lot, ha.

For those switching over to E85 and trying to run their tank down as low as posible... here was my experience tonight. Obviously we all want to get as close to empty a possible when switching over without running out of gas.
I reset the trip odometer when the low fuel light came on, so that's how many miles I drove after that, mostly city. Clearly, E is not empty. There are some threads on here about the gas gauge, which gave me the guts to run it down that low. I could see light between the Needle and the Empty line (the needle was well below E), and as the receipt shows there was still plenty of room for error. Wish I would have driven another 10 miles at least in hindsight. Hope this helps.

Most gas lights come on when there is around 1 gallon left depending on slosh in the tank. It seems you got just about all of that one gallon out,

Edit: For reference too, the trip odometer read 14.0 when the needle and E line were lined up perfectly so pulled a little less than a gallon through it past E. Was gunning it at lights trying to burn through gas at that point and put another 15.6 on it. Also, it's a 13.2 gallon tank so still had over a gallon in it (put 12.14 gallons in it per receipt) even with the needle sitting that far below E. At E you're going to be putting E85 on top of 2 gals or so of gas... (or at least very close to that... 1.75ish?) Last edited by DSTL; 09-01-2012 at 04:43 AM. |
