My uncle bought a few for tick control and they roosted in the trees at night and patroled the area all day. Sadly, they annoyed the crap out of everyone in the area and he eventually shot them.  Cool birds though, I thought they were far more useful than chickens but not as productive egg layers. I don't know if he ever harvested any eggs from them.I've heard they can and will kill snakes but I believe it's rare.
