My wife and I will be back in Carmel for a week in November for my birthday...if only I could rent one...or ship mine...sigh. PCH is such an amazing road to drive.

It's weird i disagree with all of their comments on the designs for the FR-S and Genesis. I find the FR-S blows the Genesis out of the water in the looks department.

Plus i never see anyone turning their heads for a Genesis...

PCH is fun, but not "challenging". Take that road a bit further south, exchange the 45 mph sweepers and ocean views for 15 mph 180 degree switch backs and a couple thousand foot elevation changes in the canyons! . (That Lotus would pown all! Do people still say "pown"?)

The best description in the video!

Like the review a lot. Both drivers offered more objective and fair assessment on the 86, unlike most of the ass-kissing reviewers. Gen coupe is just dull, rough and unrefined in every way. They couldn't have said it better.

New car predicted reliability for 2012
This graph shows how the makes rank based on their average predicted reliability scores. The score is the overall reliability calculated as a percentage better or worse than the average of all cars. The bar shows the range of scores between a make's worst and best models. The numeric score shown is the average for that make. To be included, a brand must have sufficient data for at least two models.

Bro everything you said, has nothing to do with what I said. I am talking parts. If you think I am misled, then please prove it. I spoke with someone with intimate knowledge about Hyundai. I'm talking the quality of their parts, not customer satisfaction.

I cant stand hyundai interiors
cheap high VOC plastics

well, we all made the right choice, and know something that led us here, rather than on some level both brz and frs buyers have that 'gene'...you know what i mean, right?

I just drove my FRS down highway 1 yesterday, Carmel to Big Sur and back. Lots of fun when I wasn't stuck behind slow drivers. I did a time lapse of the drive with my GoPro which I'll be posting soon

I know what you're saying. That's why those European cars tend to be more sturdy cuz they use "whole piece metal", while cheaper Japanese cars use "pieced-together metal parts". Not to mention Korean cars are even worse. It has nothing to do with reliability. It's about how the car is constructed. That's also the reason why BMW and Mercedes handles better while Hyundai has been known for shitty and crappy handling, even for its "supposedly sports car" Gen coupe.

I've never driven Genesis Coupe or Elise, but what they say about all of these cars makes so much sense. I really like their review. Thanks to OP for sharing this.

I did this drive back in June. San Francisco all the way down to San Lui Obispo and on to LA. I left early in the morning so it was pretty empty. It was a religious experience I tell you, with the fog and everything.

Gen Coupe

Whilst I haven't yet driven any of Gen Coupes (MKI or MKII), I have never liked the cockpit. I say cockpit as opposed to interior because I am looking at it from a driver's perspective. The wheel felt chunky, the dash mediocre and the layout just distracting. I wanted to love it - I've been tooting Hyundai's horn since they release the 2nd last gen of the Sonata (one previous to the current) and finally, FINALLY cleaned up their act. So when Hyundai was launching a RWD coupe? I was ecstatic - maybe it was the car I could replace the IS300 with - then came the reviews, then the stories about the gear box, then I sat in one. Meh - not worth dumping the IS300 for really.

That wheel needs a diet and fast. I don't care for the styling but then again, I never bought a car based on styling.

I am really happy this comparo brought a Lotus to the fight. The fact that the Scion drew even in review 1st place with the Lotus is AMAZING. Yes, the Lotus is a 2nd hander but the fact that this car can compare is crazy!

Plus, the Lotus cannot be driven to and from the track with race tires - the drive would kill your back (I've been in one), the tires would require a second car to haul them and there are known issues with Lotus assemblies on the car as a whole. Engine wise they are fairly solid.
