Im sorry but that rumble is not attractive to me. it sounds exactly like my 96 protege. it has no exhaust from the cat back (tire in the middle of the highway+low ass car = protege with no exhaust)

I thought Yamaha played around with the heads on this car, or am I mistaken and it was just Toyota?

And doesn't the Subaru site say the N/A motors produce 170bhp?
that number is for the 2.5. although since its not confirmed either way, i was thinking we would see the 2.0 in the FT86, but subaru stopped selling that in the states a while ago

that Ansa exhaust is a little to loud, though I imagine that the performance gains were worth it. I personally like my cars to be more quiet around cruising speed and then come alive over 3500rpm (my Matrix XRS has a cat back and thats how it works, though it doesn't get obnoxious)

My car would seem like a regular DD with no mods on a cruising drive by, but after 3500-4000rpm it was noticable, but as I said, not loud + obnoxious.

Ordinarily, I'd agree with you. I was actually in negotation with a fellow NASIOCer for his Cobb turboback (quiet, low rumble) and then I heard this bad boy, and just had to have it. I've heard clips of it with the baffle in place, and it still sounds pretty good. I also got a good deal on a Cobb downpipe.... so if I dislike the Ansa, I can see it and just look for a Cobb catback in the future.

That S2K sounded good till it launched, I personally dislike that sound. I guess its probably the nature of the motor, regardless of which exhaust, you'll get a similar sound.

is a bit nicer to me. (FFW to 34s)

I should try and find something from my XRS, it has the TRD axle-back and sounds really nice (to me).
Which brings a realization, my XRS would probably sound closer to most of those cars if it had a cat-back exhaust... hmmmmmmm and intake / headers....

BTW I typo'd above, I said I had a TRD Cat-back -- LIES!! its only an axle back.

I've got the single and dual. I like the dual more just for the looks but the single obviously for the performance and sound. Wish I had a sound clip of my single on with the test pipe. It was unbelievable.

I'm lost. All I did was, being sarcastic on the "eyes deceiving" bit, point out that yamaha did infact have involvement with the JZ series of engines.

So, whatcha driving at?
