I run non-oxy 91 in my BRZ. Is there a tunable HP difference between 91/93 non-oxy and 91/93 regular pump gas? I ask about 93 as well since I can get it in my area.

I'm sort of confused.
Buy a cable and a tune, hook up car to laptop, reflash ECU, gain 10whp and raise the rev limiter to 7800? Are there any negatives to this? |

I can confirm that speeding tickets are a very likely side-effect to this tune. I just picked up my second in two months on Saturday. The intake just sings and sings, coaxing you into doing bad, bad things.

I received the updated Stage 1 pump gas tune and the stock flash from John around lunchtime today. Thanks man! I'm going to upload the new tune shortly. The tutorial makes it super easy.
For all those still waiting on their tunes, John has a long list he is going through line-by-line and getting to each one. We all need to be patient if we have a tune remaining since he needs to process them all individually and it takes time for him to do the job right. Now I'll sit patiently for my E-85 tune and get to testing the updated Stage 1 map! |

Flash done, great work...Have the Airaid intake, and it runs like a champ with the tune.
On a side note - My clutch started sounding extra crunchy this afternoon...ugh...glad I am going in this weekend for my oil change. |

John has indicated he's not going to be doing a group buy again, for now. It's still a good deal at the normal price, though.

![]() Ryan I can totally appreciate how you're stoked to get the tune ASAP and I think you'll get it before you know it. I was like a kid before Christmas before I got mine, and I was an early adopter/tester. So I completely know how you feel. At this point I think we have to let the man do his job and be patient, he is totally swamped since everybody on that list is probably blowing him up still for updates, I feel hella bad for him since he's still working on tuning some of the new turbo kits at the same time! He's doing both tasks at once, both of them really are doing a lot for the community, so I'm trying to be as laid back as possible. I'm still on his list for another item and I'm just trying to let him get to everyone else. It's no big rush for me. Quote:

Thanks John for the flash this morning. I didn't get a chance to upload it till after my teaching job, but had to go to my other job afterwards so I had no time to post up anything. Anyways, it's a little wet out here. Didn't get too much of a chance to run the car through, but I can feel a difference in the tune. Yes, it will do 60 in 2nd gear. The torque dip is more transparent. The car feels better/faster as you go up in the gears. The car also sounds different. I dunno, I'll have to listen better when I have more time with the car.
Question, you sent us 2 files. One was "your" tune and the other was the "stock" tune. (Correct?) If I had to flash back to stock, do I have to contact you so that I can reflash your tune back into my car? (Meaning, do you need to open up a flash license again?) Also, is it safe assume that you will open up new flash license when there is an update to your tune like flat foot shifting, changeable maps, etc.. Anyways, thanks again. Keep up the good work. Someday I'll hit you up for the E85 tune. Maybe when this tune wears off... hehe |

I have over 5k miles, I am used to the stock clutch crunch. I am talking about a new sound, like broken glass being ground up - loudly and very sporadic... not like the stock crunchy grind that's typical.
