I have moved over from the BMW modding scene and although there are loads of insane Swedish and Icelandic E30 drag cars with funny car engines .. these aren't real bimmers any more.. I recon once a car loses its personality and it's road manners, it's no longer the car that appealed so much.. it's actually just a body replica on a race car.. but that's only my opinion

I prefer to mod to enhance and improve on the original... for me the trick is to have the mods almost invisible to the untrained eye... until the right foot goes down or the volume goes up!!

I see your view & point... but is it really "true" 86 when it has boxer engine? Is it "true" 86 when it's made by Subaru?

Drift King's AE86 don't have original engine. Along w suspension, trans & so many parts... Hell, some of the parts aren't even Toyota brands, but ppl say DK's AE86 get idolized as real true AE86.

About brain & heart example isn't a great example. Let's face it, even someone swap their brain & heart, ppl can't tell the difference & shouldn't. Right now there's heart transplant surgery. Are those ppl that had organ transplant isn't real or "true" ppl? Now, that to me is a bit of over-reacting.

Chief engineer of this wonderful car stated "Please mod this car into your taste. Maybe just a simple sticker to full track ready ver, so it's one of the kind 86." & I think Orido is doing just that.
