The drive from South Carolina was awesome. What a great Country we live in! Saw some beautiful scenery. BRZ handles superbly. NA power as anticipated regarding 3000 rpm area "flat spot" but, very acceptable. The boxer engine is not at all like an inline 4 turbo. It has it's own personality so to speak. Mileage unbelievable. Mine is a 6MT and readout was showing 34.4 to 34.6 consistently highway driving. Did the math at one of the fill ups and confirmed it! Must have gone through at least 20+ radar traps along the way. Kudos to the Escort radar detector company for the early warnings!!! Had several ppl approach me to talk about the car along the way and numerous, numerous head turning and slow downs from other drivers. It was fun to spot other "sporty" cars and caravan at same speeds together. Among these - a new Boss 302, Camaro SS, BMW 8 series, Mercedes, etc. A few open road spots hit 91 MPH and there was still pedal. Had to refrain from 4000 RPM alot. But, upon arrival at home yesterday evening.....odo reading was:

34 mpg? I can't break 28 to save my life and I drive like a grandma 80% of the time.

Ugh! Waiting was a total pain. But, yes, I am a happy camper now!!! Hey, late Sat. afternoon on the way back to S.A. just south of Austin on 35 saw a WRB BRZ exiting on 45....wasn't you was it? I was locked into the left lane so couldn't get closer to zoom up behind it. That was the first BRZ I've ever seen on the road!

It's gone down to 33 now...will do another accurate reading at next fill-up and reset avg to zero. I've seen a couple of other 6MTs on here getting high mileage compared to others! Heck, it's only suppose to get 30 Hwy! I'd be happy with 28 combined. My mileage reading was 1300 miles worth of 98% pure highway so might have something to do with it.

Saturday, I was having my BRZ "Fourth Drive" so didn't miss the FR-S "First Drive" much ... would have liked to seen those FR-S mods in person though!!!

Nah that wasn't me, I haven't been on 35 since I last drove down to San Antonio a month or so ago.

I'm getting under 26 combined...but I like to get on the pedal a bit haha.
