I don't think the wheels are ugly, but I do want to replace them.
That said, nearly everyone who has looked at the car has complimented the stock wheels. |

When they're all one color, they remind me of the current WRX wheels.

Denial. These wheels aren't that bad looking in person.
Anger. Fuuuuuuuuuuu cleaning spokes. Bargaining. Actually they're pretty nice, beats spending tons on aftermarket wheels. Depression. Everyone at this meet has such cool jay da em wheels, but me. Acceptance. Tires are below 3/32nds. Time for some baller ass wheels.

While researching a fun drivers car I thought the wheels were one negative compared to other cars. When finally deciding to buy the FR-S, seeing the wheels in person and then looking at the car more closely I really started to like the wheels. Sure I will most likely buy a lighter set for the track, but would not waste money buying wheels for better looks.

I agree with almost everyone here. They DO look a LOT better in person than when I first saw them. I used to hate them. They've grown on me. Receive lots of compliments. Unable to find hardly ANY aftermarket wheels that look right, and don't make the car look older or that just match the style period. They're far too thin, however, they're already a bit on the heavy side, so an 8 or 9 with a MUCH more aggressive offset would be nice, but also heavier, slower, more expensive. I wish there had been options, I would have opted for the 18" TC wheels, or a set of 19" seven spoke TRD wheels that look like the FIVE AD concept wheels in a way. I think I am going to paint mine silver. Saw the ARK car with theirs painted, and looks sick. Gonna try bronze plasti first... Just not sure on red if it will look right. White might though... hm...

I'd likely keep them if they had a lip. I often find lipless wheels boring.
