Isn't this a fail-safe installed in the wake of the mythical Sudden Unintended Acceleration "problem" that the U.S. gov't found with Toyotas?

I believe someone mentioned that before...

Sorry but there is no launching the auto. Yet. The problem is even when you apply only 70% of the brake and you go above the 2.5K the car still bogs off the launch. I definitely feel that the ecu is holding it back.

How shamefull to do that on a sport car. Can't get any good start on race. Of course, this isnt that bad on lapping or drift, but still not cool!

Anyone found a way to bypass it? Or ... remove it completly? My friend suggested me to get a new chip, to remove it completly. I guess that would take about 2 weeks.. but would my warranty still be good? (I got 7 years...)

Thanks for your help!
You are right, it was shameful that they put an auto in a sports car.

Having to "search for a sweet spot on your break, than give some gaz, if you start moving you then.. " no.. if you start moving, it's a false start and you lose.

I basically want it removed and I guess the only way is to flash the computer and retune it. I'll try that..
I'll trade you for my manual straight up! I want an auto so I can get the p&l turbo... 403 to the wheel without having to upgrade my clutch!

Hehe. Dude, if drag racing is your thing, then buying an auto '86 was not the best idea

Easy solution, don't drag race a car that is not fast in a straight line. What were you up against, a Sienna or a Odyssey?

You will have more wins by doing autox, instead of the drag strip. Unless you heavily mod your car.

Hey, I'm not implying that. But the auto has longer ratios than the manual so it is an even worse proposition than the manual in terms of straight line speed. I know autos can be great for drag racing in the right application.

Exce[t doing auto x also requires you to have a good launch as well.
