My limp speedometer bothers me

I really don't understand why they decided to put an analog speedometer in the car. It is just wasting space that could have been used for other gauges. I like the combined tach/digital speedo setup, but every time I glance over to the left I get annoyed at the limp analog speedometer. I have to be going like 100 MPH before that thing will even be above horizontal!

We have an analog speedo?

I know what you mean, I just ignore the analog one all together.

I wish the speedo was on the right and the temp and gas gauge on the left. Would make more sense as the dial would be bit more visible, but maybe that's the JDM way.

my thought was all speed gauges should be mounted in a way so that the 65-75mph would be at the 12 o'clock needle spot. Then when you are over the limit, it is all downhill from there!

The base model does not have the digital speedo. Why that would be an option is beyond me.

And just to make it totally useless, the needle always lights up but not the gauge unless you have your lights on. So during the day it is totally unreadable.

For now on I am going to refer to it as a vestigal spedometer.

First world problems.

I think its pretty nice, but once you are accustom to the digi it can get ignored.

The minimalization of information readouts is the only thing that kinda bugs me about the car. The odo readout is shared with the trip and the various other readings like ambient temp, mileage, etc. Even in my old Mazda I could show my odo, trip, and comp readout all at once.

That said, I agree it's minor
