[15 minutes later] I just called Evasive Motorsports and they said they'd be available sometime in the later year, unpainted, and they're willing to take deposits for pre-orders. Looks like I'm going to have to talk to the wife about an early christmas present. [edit] URL for item: http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...Code=FR_S-AERO

wait a year and every prices will get lower, you can also plug the holes on your OEM ones and get them painted back, but it won't look the same

someone should work with a local body shop to take a mold of the factory piece, and then in fiberglass or carbon, offer just a plain, "blank" piece. Then everyone could buy that and customize it however they want ... emblem, no emblem, faux vent, functional vent, no vent.

on the FR-S it's not a flat piece. even if you remove the '86 piston' emblem there is a raised surface surrounding the emblem. so it would take a fair amount of body work to modify it.
