MOTIV Concepts Scion FR-S High Flow Catalytic Converter

Stop by at the MOTIV Concepts to take a look at their HFC and installation. I have a Automatic Scion FR-S, for the automatic the HFC have fitment issue I'll post some of the pictures below. This is the reason why I wanted to stop by at MOTIV Concepts and have them test fit the HFC.

MOTIV Concepts High Flow Catalytic Converter (Custom for Automatic)

Quality flange you can see for yourself, not some flimsy bolt on flange.

Two professional Jordan and Adam looking at fitment issue the HFC is touching the Automatic trany.

Here the close up of the HFC and the rubbing trany.

No problem, lets re-work the HFC

Stock Front pipe 13 pounds
MOTIV HFC only 8 pounds
Lost 5 pounds

Fit like a dream

Post a clip here. Enjoy!

HFC is 2.5 inches in diameter pipe. Throttle respond is alot quicker then before, in the video I was driving on Manual setting going 1-3 then downshift 3,2,1.

I've been very interested in the sound of the stock muffler with some higher-flow piping upstream. Can you get a video revving? I hate to ask people for videos because they're so much trouble, but this is a great, cheap option for a more aggressive stock exhaust note without breaking the bank.

I'm using the Go Pro Hero2 with the hollow back casing so sound can be record. You want me to record it without the case? I had a good deal on HFC plus these guy installed it for free, and Apexi is coming in Sept I'll post when I get it mounted on this HFC.

Thanks for the offer! The sound quality is good, but it's hard to get a real-world volume level estimation from that one. All I could tell from that video is that the tone was good . Perhaps a video revving from behind the car, or maybe a flyby? Yet again, I feel like a jerk asking for videos since they're fairly time consuming. Also, what are your impressions of the sound? How loud is it compared to bone stock?

It definitely louder than stock front pipe, I just love the way the car respond now when being push hard. I don't see the point of flyby video, simply because it only record what a tenth of a second? Don't know if that really prove anything.

These guys are awesome, I have an auto as well and mine is currently en route. They contacted me to let me know it wouldn't fit up to thier standards and they would have me another one out next week. I couldn't be happier with the customer service and looking forward to getting mine next week. I've decided to change from the test pipe to the high flow cat just in case I want to change the cat back too.

Someone with a better microphone needs to record this sound. I'm very curious to see what it sounds like through a better mic. The video above makes it sound very much like the autofactory full exhaust system, which would be insane since that system is over $2,500.

+1 would love to hear some better quality videos of the catted and catless pipes on stock exhaust. If theres no drone or check engine lights, I may just go with one of these pipes and save a bunch of money vs going with an axleback exhaust.

Any noticeable difference in power? Have you gotten a check engine light yet? Any drone while cruising? Sounds good.

You won't have to worry about a check engine light with either pipe since there's no O2 sensor on that section of the exhaust.
