I can't imagine how many FRS crashes there are that aren't getting posted here. On another note.. What insurance company is giving your those 85-90 dollar rates? I might have to make a switch...

You see, there is a double edged sword to Scion's marketing for the FR-S. Promoting the playfulness of the car will enable them to make sales, but when every fool smashes up their vehicle due to inexperience and immaturity, we all pay for it with hiked insurance premiums. That can deter people from buying this vehicle.

I, for one am sort of grateful to see all the wrecks as it has convinced me that unless the car is at a track or other "safe" location, there is WAYYY too much risk drifting. Not that I don't feel for the drivers who are smashing up. When I was 22 (1986) I wrecked (rolled into a ditch due to a snapped tie rod while driving like a maniac) my '85 VW GTI. That definitely had a major effect on how things went for me for several years afterward. It is not worth it!

I'll stick to regular driving for now.

I take issue with posts like this one. This isn't my first rear-wheel drive car by any means, and I never found myself drifting into a trash can in my previous RWD cars that lacked stability control. People need to keep common sense "on," not stability control.
