when the AT and IT are similar on a dyno dynamics dyno, you dont get any additional power corrections applied to the figure.

If you sit the IT probe on the exhaust manifold you can really exagerate the power reading.

A lot of tuning places just leave the IT sensor hanging on the wall next to the AT sensor so there aren't any additional corrections. There's a post over at toymods detailing the correction factors for differing IT temperatures on the Dyno Dynamics units.

I will be getting down to WSID asap first to get a MPH reading down the quarter and maybe then later a 1/4 mile attempt. That pretty much the **ONLY** dyno that matters. Everything else is just a piece paper with a number written on it.
Good to hear! So when does the turbo fully spoll?

Id have to say the tune/tuning and how heavy your right foot is the most important part, more then the others mentioned.

Without knowing a hole bunch of technical engine build/quality mumbo jumbo 1 would think the engine will die very quick.

For me thou id be looking at forged internals or at least pistons, good flowing head/intake and a lower cr of around 10.5/1 or 11.0 for a healthy life span.

But the lads have done well, double the power, that's pretty decent figures. Time will tell if it lives or dies.

Do they plan to tear the motor down after 5000-10000kms to inspect the insides?

hmmm... so

$7k for parts...

$10k for parts/fitment/tuning...

personally think they may have missed the mark on their offer.. dont get me wrong, they're staggering numbers.

but not everyone can afford almost 1/3 or 1/4 of the cars' value as an upgrade..

well for $7k you can't expect a teardown of the motor

isn't everyone operating on an unopened motor?

$10k is a lot i admit however think of it like this...

10 yrs ago the S15 was $40-$45k

the 86 is $35k + $10k = $45k... and in real world terms, $45k was a lot more money 10yrs ago

you do lose your warranty but for some people, that doesn't matter

i think everyone realises there's no cheap way to get power

this isn't a turbo car, nor is it an LSX or Coyote which all proven to be cheap to screw power out of

You have to pay to play. More reason to buy a gt if you're price conscious.

Compare this to the us ap kit. Its what us5k + freight + approx 15% duty and gst + customs broker etc. you'll be well up to 7k.

really looking forward to your 1/4 mile time. I'm guessing mid to low 12s if you can get traction

Nah I think its fair, they're the first developers of a drive in drive out solution on an untested engine with no roadmap. The price has research, time, opportunity cost and risk factored into it. If you want to be an early adopter, you pay the early adopters fee. In a year there'll be tons of kits and people to choose from, and the prices will be cheaper.

Will only doing a few passes to get MPH first.... baby steps... If looking good then I'll make an attempt later in the night, although with pissy 205 YOKO's I'm not expecting much.

If the MPH is encouraging I'll comeback with wider rear tyres. I have a set 265 MT's but I doubt they would fit in the back.

missed the Ball?? we are offereing a kit with QUALITY parts used not chinese shit that others will use and flog off as good stuff, anyone thinking that a $4k turbo kit is going to use good quality stuff is kidding them selves..

we will be doing tuning using ecutek now so the price may drop a little when that comes on line but people interested need to give the shop a call and talk rather than posting shit all over the internet about how the price is too high with zero understanding of whats involved or what parts are used..

I'm guessing your talking about the avo kit but I think we will start to see more $5-6k Garrett kits popping up here, there's already a few stateside.

Going to ecutek should help you knock off some $ and tune the DI ... would be nice if it had flex fuel support too.
