Odd, my car isn't leased.

Considering the basic selections for the car is color and transmission (less port / dealer options), I am surprised Toyota / Subaru would go through the hassle of providing different tires strictly for leased vehicles.

I guess the thinking is that lessors do not want to bother with buying winter tires and wheels for a lease period.

Is this true? The factory can differentiate between leased and purchased vehicles for production?

Anyone know what model of Bridgestones are being put on specifically instead of the Michelins?

This can't be true unless it was a fleet order or something.
My guess is an interruption in the supply chain somewhere and they had to source a comparable tire in the interim.

The factory can install different tires for lease/purchase. I'm not saying they do, but it's not that hard to plug in different items for a car. They call it a build sheet and it states specifically what goes on the car.

Not that big a deal really.
