Have you flashed the car yet? Is it having any issues?

The stage 1 flash is in, thanks to some awesome customer service from John, and it's worth every penny. The whole process took about 30 minutes, including a late-night call to John after I screwed everything up. John was totally cool about it and helped me via a remote log-in program. Dude's a saint. I've had no issues whatsoever so far, about 100 miles driven tonight with the tune.

All of the reports are true: This how the BRZ should be stock. The torque dip feels gone, throttle response is improved, and there is more power throughout the powerband especially at the newly-raised redline. I had to watch myself on the street so as to not get myself into too much trouble. Edit: I should note that I believe this is an updated version of the Stage 1 flash, I believe the same one that brichard0625 has.

One thing that is of interest is that Visconti's Stage 1 flash changes the sound of the engine and the exhaust slightly throughout the powerband, in an awesome way. It's hard to describe, but both my GF and I noticed a slightly richer and deeper intake and exhaust note while doing a test run down to the Sunol Super Station.

Anyone on the fence about this should pull the trigger ASAP. I can't wait to drive the car more tomorrow!

I signed up for the group buy but after an e85 suggestion I haven't paid it off just yet. My question is if I wanted the e85 tune should I wait or is this group buy going to have that map with it? Also Hoping I am correct in reading you didn't need an injector swap? If I get dons turbo kit plus e85 should they be changed? Thanks for all the hard work

Group buy does not include the e85 tune.

While staying NA you wont need injectors to run e85

You can purchase it now or later , same price. $350

E85 with a turbo kit will require you to get a upgraded fuel pump and injectors.

I'll be testing serval sets of injectors next week to see what works the best.

Do you think that switching to E85, and having a full intake/exhaust system might get you close to the limits of the stock fuel system, or is there still plenty of room to go?

And if someone were to say, buy the STG1 from the groupbuy, would you offer any sort of discount on the E85 tune later on?

Thanks

Any idea yet what will be the price of the e85 tune?

e85 tune will include 93 octane maps and map switching etc... etc?

So around midnight i met up with john to get an update. He was nice enough to wait up for me since i got out of work at 11pm. But i rushed and got from long island to CT in under and hour at speeds of 80-90mph. Had my cheap cobra radar but it actually gets the job done and got me out of some close calls lol. So we did the update and the car is just "F***ING AWESOME". Just when i thought the car could not get any better john pulls a rabbit out of his hat. His tune is like a mixture of "FERGIE AND JESUS". The car pulls so much harder now, the torque is smooth now that the dip doesnt exsist, and runs thru the speedo so fast that 100mph is nothing now. So you know i had to bug john and ask him if he can just demonstrate flat-foot shifting and launch control and he said he would give me a little preview. it took me a while to learn but OMG IS THIS SH*T AMAZING. Being able to hold a launch and having the foot on the gas while shifting feels like butter. My acceleration felt so much faster that i swear i think we were doing 0-60 in like 5 secs. The tune alone is amazing, these features are like icing on the cake. I dont know how john does it but he's the f***ing man all jokes aside. Honestly this is what the FRS/BRZ is suppose to be like. You dont drive an FRS/BRZ unless you have this tune. I had to bold that because the tune feels that great and i have to take my hat off to john because he really unlocked this car and he's still going! Best bang for your buck is visconti's tune and maybe a radar because this tune will have you going crazy. Im sure in the upcoming weeks your going to read all the ppl that purchased this tune bragging about it. Seriously john we need stickers that say Visconti TuNed. I cant wait to get my cable and update so i can i have the launch control and flat-foot.

I had to put my post from my other thread into here because i love this tune and my car lol...Just took my dad for a run in my car didnt even tell him i got it updated. He took a few passes and said "what did you put in here it feels smooth as sh*T and it has an extra kick to it". Told him the God of the FRS/BRZ came down and blessed me with more power lol..

I have a similar question to sportsguy83. Is the E85 tune $350 if one has already gotten one tune by you through the groupbuy?

Also, if we paid 750 on the group buy instead of 700 as one of the first buyers, any chance we can get a credit towards more sick maps? I'm still going to get them, just curious.

Thanks!

I feel guilty for getting this much of an improvement and only paying $750 as it is. I couldn't imagine asking for a discount.

BTW, I drove the car again this morning, the third trip after being tuned, and still can't get over how much harder the car is pulling now. The idle is smoother, there's more usable power down low. But the one thing that I don't get is how the tune is able to change the sound of the exhaust. It's got a lot more of the bear-eating-a-wasp-nest sound. It's intoxicating.
