Detrimental to ride quality? You mean 'enhances road feel'.

Safety? It increases 'active' safety (avoiding accidents).

Interior noise? Enhances interior music (engine music, tire squealing music).

Think positive! Now Toyota has NO excuses not to do it. lol.

This man has his head in the right place.

I concur.

I definitely don't drive the AE86 for any of those qualities (safety, noise dampening, or ride quality), and honestly, all should be second rate on a sports car. If I wanted to drive in luxury, and feel safe, I'd own a big ole sedan.

But honestly, there's only so much sheet-metal and bags can do against a driver-side impact from a vehicle 3x the size of your car.
