At 2:52 he said the 86 is "enjoyable all the way up that scale."

If I could get a used Cayman S for anywhere near the price of a new BRZ or 86 there would be no contest. Here is Australia, a USED cayman S is still at lease twice the price of a new BRZ .

I think you miss the point. He said the z is fine until 8/10 but shows its flaws when pushed past that point. Not a good trait to have. Where the gt86 did not exhibit these flaws such as vague transmission and motor feeling like it's going to fall apart when approaching its limits.

Man, when i logged into YouTube today, this video was on my feed. I saw GT86, 370Z, and Cayman and was like, "Nice." Then i saw, "Chris Harris," and said out loud, "Oh hell yes!"

I need rear seats, so that rules out the Nissan and Porsche for me. So I was looking at the Genesis, Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. If you think the Nissan is a lard ass, try a Camaro. The muscle cars in general feel huge, and won't fit in my garage unless I park at angle.
The 86 is the practical sports car.

probably because that video is in every other thread on the boards. i think he speaks well but i feel like the guy has an opinion and then reviews cars heavily influenced by his prejudice. i just find it strange how someone who hates the miata and even says it isnt a sports car an it lacks power and then praises an frs because sports cars dont need power

I definitely thought long and hard about both a used 370Z and a used Cayman given that the price point here was close enough to a new BRZ (a bit under $30K). And as Chris Harris pointed out you'd be getting so much more car with the Cayman. But as he also pointed out, by buying a used Porsche you're also getting into a lot of expensive maintenance. I've always been turned off by the expensive stories and unreliability I've heard and seen other owners of European cars have to deal with. Case in point, my coworker today couldn't start his BMW 3-series -- probably starter gone bad. That car can't be more than 6 years old. My 6 year old Lexus, and my 12 year old MR2 both start just fine. I opted for the Subaru.

p.s. wish the Toyobaru sounded more like the Cayman did though. that flat6 sounds beautiful.
