I almost thought about buying a Scion instead of waiting for my BRZ pre-order. But the World Rally Blue color, the higher quality interior of the Limited, and the extra added features made me retain my patience. I realized the only reason I would get a Scion is for the Hot Lava exterior color and I would have to remove the Scion badges and replace them with Toyota ones. Patience pays off

You would be paying 6k+ for the amenities that you listed. They are basically the same car, it's not worth it imo.

Yesterday I threw a pile of money on the BBQ, doused it in gas and lit it on fire. Then i realized it was a bad idea... too late now

I see Vinyl and Alcantara, both are synthetic materials.

In 1998 Subaru joined the ASPCA, and stopped using leather. They have some blends still, but there is no real leather in the vehicles.

Eh who cares if it isn't exactly leather or if that is even true. It still is a really nice interior. It is still way better than the cheap cloth in the FR-S. I don't understand why Toyota had to be so cheap in their U.S production models.

All I said is that it is not leather. I don't really see much of a quality difference in the BRZ Premium and FRS interiors either. The only one that is ahead of the rest, is the Limited. It is nice, I just said its not leather.

I find it misleading that they call it leather/alcantara if it really isn't.

I think it is misleading too, but it doesnt change the fact that it is synthetic.

The ASCPA would drop them if they used leather in the vehicle. But maybe someone knows more on this than I do. I know very little.

I think the only chance these cars would have real leather, is if Toyota had some crossover and had it added by them rather than Subaru to protect the ASCPA relationship.

You made a mistake, the BRZ is a better bang for the buck, but at this point .. take the money you'd lose by trading it in and invest in making the FRS more to your liking.

Perhaps you might get lucky selling it privately to someone without much of a loss who is also impatient and can't wait.

I have an MR2 Spyder with leather, and a Porsche 996 with leather. The difference in the material is astounding.

I knew you were seeing it from that angle and you have a point. But keep in mind and be assured, they are not the first nor the last of a lot of car companies that do the same. Their "leather" is not real leather. Do I really care? Not at all. I honestly don't think any car under 30K here in USA has real leather (feel free to correct me if wrong).

Post whore much? Very insightful post.

OP, this sounds like one impatient, ill-advised decision made after another. Perhaps it's not forum posts and member feedback that you require but rather a deeper introspection into what causes you to "jump the gun" and make these important decisions with almost no consideration to the consequences.

Like many others before me: the original decision was bad, this decision is bad.
