I'm from Canada & of course we didn't get a lot of the stuff you guys got standard on your model. Do you guys have a switch to turn on your rear fog light? If so where is it located?

inner ring, forward to turn on front fogs, flick it again and it will turn on the rear, but the selector returns to the front fog position - so flick it forward once more to turn off the rear for light. ![]() my GT86 has arrived today!.. well chuffed unfortunatley, as it wasnt due for another 10 days, so i;ll not get it till 1st Sept.. may as well hold on for the 62 plate still...

well.. its correct as per its order form!
![]() its my first auto, but the only true sports cars ive driven before (F360 and Lambo Gallardo) were flappys.. i had them both for 24hr hires and on every blast/cruise out it seemed to add something to the experience for me.. This GT86 is the only car ive ever wanted to buy new.. and wanted to get a sense of that occasion for my 'mini' sports car.. though i only ordered the flappys after reading good things about it (in sport+manual mode!).. i'll just treat it as a manual with flappys, cant see myself using it in proper auto mode anyway. time will tell if its a decision i'll be pleased with, or f***ed off with.. ![]() edit to add.. i'll be allowing my mrs to drive this too (so i can have a few beers on occasion!).. and for my sanity the auto is probably a good thing.. i used to cringe when she drove my S2000.. not exactly mechanically sympathetic! ..

Group Test GT86 Vs E36 (?) BMW M3 Vs Renault Clio 200 Vs Integra Type-R Everything gets 5 stars apart from the GT86 which gets 4, and after a lot of waffle if you sift out the reasons why it only got 4 stars, they are saying the tyres aren't great when pushed over the limit, the exhaust sound is not great and the engine could do with a bit more power... But then, evo didn't like the Clio when it first came out, the M3 and ITR are awesome so its no surprise the test came out like this... I think they will warm to it over time, eventually they will test a GT86 that has had the tyres changed and a different exhaust and a weeny bit more power and they will LOVE it... |

Had a test drive in a BRZ yesterday and loved it, so nothing new to say there, only that when I got to fiddle with the car afterwards I could not get the DAB button on the radio to do anything. Should it work? For the odd occasion I need a sat-nav I am not bothered about spending £1000 for the in-dash Pioneer unit but I would like a decent radio with Bluetooth. Has anyone found any other options, other than buying the Toyota?
I have been quoted six months wait for the Subaru but only 6 -8 weeks for the Toyota. As a long time Subaru owner, much as it pains me to say it, the Toyota looks tempting. |

Subaru definitely seem to be shooting themselves in the foot here. No cars to sell until march according to my dealer. I'm sure someone said they have 97 cars in the uk all year but that could be salesman bollocks. Toyota have all the press it seems and I've just seen a GT86 advert on tv!
Any one making a decision between the two might prefer the Subaru but it makes no odds as you cant get one and as the car is so similar to the Toyota I suspect 99% of people will just buy the GT86 for delivery this year. Just hope they are making enough money in the rest of the world selling BRZs. As for the stereo the DAB button does nothing, no Bluetooth either so the Toyota is a step up with the touch screen. The Subaru head unit also is backlit in green! I was like WTF is that when I first saw the car?! I've spoken to Subaru uk and they are developing a mounting kit for the pioneers, so any 2din unit will fit in theory but for £27k you expect something designed this century. Have a look at the Canadian site for pics how it'll be with the pioneer head units in. I pre-ordered the Subaru but nearly bought a GT86 anyway until I managed to get a bit more out of my PX. I'm sure you'll be over joyed with either car.... |

Hello peeps,
Got ours on Thursday. Even with only 4K to play with, it's very chuckable and great fun. ![]() Uzu means eddy, or vortex, which seems appropriate, somehow. We have DAB on some cars, but frankly, reception's so crap round Hertford, all that money for a kit with a useless sticky windscreen antenna just doesn't cut it, thanks. A decent iPod Nano with lossless sounds OK on the stock speakers, which means we'll do without, for now. |
