I don't recall the percentages off-hand but there was quite a bit of testing done by NASIOC members using the stock tune on the old NASIOC 2.5 RS subforum. I believe the mix was something on the order of 50/50, but I could be off. After running the corn/pump gas mix, I looked at the fuel lines and hardware when replacing the fuel filter during routine maintenance and didn't see any visible deterioration of anything. No clogging of the filter that I could see. Edit: Injectors were also fine. Etc..

I had only about maybe 4k miles on the mix out of the 45k or so that I had on the RS, but during and after the time I put E85 in the car, I only saw positive effects. I haven't ran E-85 on the BRZ yet, but 100 octane beats the piss out of CA 91.

And since Visconti has more seat time/tuning experience with the BRZ/FR-S than most anyone else I can think of, if he says E-85 is looking to be copasetic with the FA20, that's more than good enough for me.
I agree. Just always cautious, especially with first year production. I dont make enough money to have to pay out of pocket for everything if i void a warranty haha. Trying to do things that could be hidden

as to all of the above. Nothing more hidden than a flash. Counting down the hours until I get mine! Also, can't wait to see the new maps and dynos of 100 or 96 octane..

This forum and all it talks about is the reason why I bought this car. I love being on the forefront of tuning and parts!

I'm very impressed at your results but I'm sitting here looking at the dynograph wondering how you extracted so much from it. Usually I expect a 3-5% gain over 93 AKI Gasoline, which would be plenty enough for me. Though we lost the only E85 pump in my town, I'm usually never more than 20 miles from an E85 pump out here.

I'm not committing to anything mind you, not yet, but when/if I get my car I'll be putting you on my list.

sorry if I've missed this, but does your flash have the ability to toggle between fuel/ timing maps for different octanes? Or are you "stuck" with which ever one you select? I can't imagine it uses a flex fuel sensor does it?

excuse the ignorant question - but what about a "mix" fuel table? If you fill up with e85 when you have a quarter tank of 91. Will there be accountability for that? or is it an either/or decision for the ecu?

yeah that's to far for me. the car is going to be a daily driver, so i need more options for places to gas up

Just an FYI I know nothing in this tuner world. I drove stock vettes the last decade. My last being a 2007 z06 so please bare with my ignorance to this strange yet interesting new world of small displacement vehicles. That said...

Count me in on e85. I just checked the website. Then drove out to the actual station to make sure they had the fuel, and they do! Yay. Said 104 octane@ $3.41 per gallon that's .22 less than 87, and .58$ less than 93. All I need to know is what is needed for this fuel if anything.

I already gave my 50$ for the group buy on that ecu flash stg1, ordered a perrin pulley and am currently looking on a full blown exhaust. Living in Florida there are no emissions to worry about. So if cats need to come off no problem. Also debating on the turbo option with e85.

I believe E85, while cheaper, is less energy dense than regular gas. Therefore your engine needs 30-40% more E85 to get the same mileage. Your MPG will take a 30-40% hit so in the end E85 may be more expensive.

Your fuel pump and injectors will need to work 30-40% harder and thus you will hit the limitations of the fuel system sooner.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
