Ordering soon, want to order with fog lights
Hey guys, I am planning on ordering my FR-S this week. On the Scion site I have not seen the availability for fog lights as an option yet. I have read in a few threads that this option may become available soon.
Does anyone have any concrete info on the fog lights yet? Is this something I should ask the dealer about when I go to order, or are they going to do it as a dealer install anyway? Thanks for any insight. |

Foglights are a dealer installed accessory. Therefore they should have no bearing on an "order" vehicle.

Since we are on the subject of dealer installed accessories - what about tires?
Is the dealer allowed to install whatever tires they want on a car?

I would assume that the tires the car is expected to come with is what you should get. I suppose you could ask for different ones if you wanted to?
Thanks for the info on the fog lights. I'll ask the dealer when I go to order. |

The car comes with standard summer-only tires. The dealer can change them if you request it. Fog lights are not available yet for the FR-S. Only a handful of accessories are out yet. The only one worth getting with the car, IMO, are the wheel locks. The $800 accessory radio is a clumsy half-apped device. App radios will be a heck of a lot better in the future.

I believe the release date for the fog lights is like January 2013 (here is the U.S.)
Don't quote me though. |

If you want a better listening experience get the audio + upgrade. The bespoke unit is not necessary but the sound quality is night and day between the two options.

Foglights on the brz were a terrible idea. You turn them on they look hideous. As im only using them for visual appeal, no actual use. they are 24w halogen lights that look like they should headlights for an 89 buick. Wait till aftermarket catches up. Who thought to put those plain jane bulbs in those housings needs to be publicly stoned and whipped for making such a terrible choice in the 21st century. Have they ever heard the term LED. Sorry for venting...

I don't much like the look of LEDs. They are okay when designed to operate like normal lights, but when they are aligned in series, they look like cheap jewelry.

So I put my order in today. I asked about the fog lights and the dealer told me that they would be available soon, but that it would likely remain a dealer install option for the 2013 model year. I guess I'll get them down the road, but I have to wait 3-6 months for my car anyway
