Someone please educate me why this would not happen to the BRZ (or any car that is not designed specifically to run e85).
Unless Subaru built the BRZ differently than any of their previous cars... The BRZ will be fine. I was running 100% e85 for probably 10000 miles on my 04 STi and never had a problem, and their are many others who have been running the same with 0 problems with the fuel eating through the lines on a turbo Subaru.

I have no way to guarantee the FR-S/BRZ would be safe on e85.. but Subaru's prior history leads me to believe it will be fine.

Was this your car that it happened to? A modern year 2000+ car should not have a problem with "eating" fuel lines.

However the fuel pump and bigger injectors being required of course! E85 only has 75% the potential energy of gasoline so at least 30 percent more fuel is required and most stock systems are not meant to handle that increase.

I've tuned so many EvoXs with just larger injectors on e85 and have had zero problems.

I stay away from fuel pump replacements on those lol

I ran E85 through my 98 Eclipse GSX for about 15k miles. Upgraded the pump and injectors only, and not specifically for E85 use.

I feel much safer/comfortable using ethanol for racing.

QUESTION!

I'm dropping my car off to get turbo'd here in a few mins and we are being forced to use the OLD ECU because the new ECU is on a major backorder at Toyota. Will we be able to flash an EcuTek tune onto the new ECU once it is installed WITHOUT having to buy new licenses etc? It will be the same VIN ECU it's just that the TSB that was called for this car physically replaces the ECU.

i will give you your props on subies but i have to disagree on the evo X's you must change a good amount of your fuel system or eventually you will no none left. i don't want to have a pissing match but i am sure you have wwaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy more subies under your belt but evos X's i would safely say i have tuned more and i see the lines turn yellow and even leak sometimes. maybe these guys just had bad luck? but the pump and injectors are a must for sure
