Sorry for the necro-post, but I watched the video one more time and realized... This turbo is really peaky and the power doesn't seem to come on until after 4500. That's more than half of this car's powerband. I'll pass for now, no matter how much WHP I gain. That much lag just takes the soul, the responsiveness, out of this car.

The dyno chart says otherwise.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. If you look closely, you'll see that even though you have 150WHP at 3500, it goes to 180 till 4250. Then, the slope increases and the car really starts to come alive, going from 180 to 230WHP in the same 750RPM interval, although higher up the rev range. That's a 50WHP increase compared to a 30WHP. It may not seem like much of a difference, but it's certainly not linear and you definitely see that reflected in the video.

Yeah you're right, I didn't realize the dyno didnt start until 3000. But still it looks like it pulls right to redline. I'd like to see what the boost curve looks like.

Looking forward to the dynograph without spool up help from the ethanol, and since you are on a Haltech are you letting the stock ecu run the direct inject and just controlling the secondarys? Either way congrats on the numbers.

Maybe I missed it but do you have a dyno plot with an overlay with the stock dyno plot?

It's too bad they couldn't get rid of the torque dip.

There is only a 25ish tq difference all the way from 3600 to redline. Your hp comparison doesn't work here.
Also, at 3600, its making about 100 ftlbs more than stock tq.
In conclusion, IMO, you can't judge the response of an unspooled turbo in a first gear pull. I don't see where this is ever relevant, Im never just cruizing around at less than 10mph in first gear and then care about having instant boost. When the rpm is climbing that fast the turbo doesn't have time to spool as it will in any higher gear. Might be a downside to some, but if you are doing any form of racing just launch it and then stay above 3.5k rpm. Its not that hard.

Either way, im excited to see the haltech and would love to see some more details about how it is being used.

Can you put a turbo on an automatic? It seems like it would be better for this kind of work so you can keep both your hands on the wheel lol.
