I honestly have no idea what you're talking about when you say Spec series lol

It's a racing series where everyone races with the same car using the same upgrades/parts and tunes it to their personal preference of driving fast. Hence why the thread is called "Forza 4 - Scion FR-S Spec Series."

Different cars can be way faster than others at the same point index. Spec series try to eliminate the car to focus more on the drivers.

I'm a decent driver in the game, not as good as some of you obviously. But I can definitely whoop some @$$ at drifting. I'd like to see someone take me in that

It definitely isn't the fastest car to flog around in Forza, but it is a ton of fun right out of the box. I've upgraded transmission (always like adjustable final drive) and tires (stickier compound) and it is a ball with all the assists off.

I love and hate the handling characteristics of the FR-S. I hate at every corner while racing the back end wants to step out on me and I loose precious seconds because of it. Other than that the car feels planted and cart like. If the car is like that in real life I would grow tired of it real quick. I hope the BR-Z is more of a point and shoot straight kind of car.

Talking

Remember: you drive the vehicle.. What it does is a direct result of your input. It's obedient; and follows your orders no matter if they are good or bad decisions.

Short answer: learn how weight transfers in a vehicle. Drive within your limits.

Interestingly enough, despite the lightweight nature of the car, it still requires more weight transfer handling than heavier cars I've driven. Obviously it's a video game though, so it's probably not the same as reality.

I think the FR-S might be classed to high. In the C class I have a hard time with the FRS on some tracks(ones with mostly decent straights) because its lack of torque and power and cars like the GC 3.8 V6 and the G35/Audi TT 3.2 gives me a hard ass time. Then on some Japanese tracks I barely win most times and I always top out all of my cars in every class.

The FRS slides you. On a serious note, it takes very little effort to slide out. For grip style racing, it's not good stock but with some more tuning, to make it more neutral, it does okay. I've set a couple top <2500 place times in B-C class.

It's lower than the S2k but right in between the Mazdaspeed RX-8 and the R3 RX-8, so I believe it's about right. The problem is that it's not a lightweight monster or a missile car. It's got good handling and good power but not too much of either one. I enjoy it for what it is. But it's not a leaderboard car.

If you want some laughs, take it on an oval track. I spent a few minutes configuring it for an oval and somehow managed a really good lap time and busted up laughing. I can't remember exactly but it seems like I had a top 500 or 600 place time out of 300k people.

So not being an avid video gamer, i dumped a whole bunch on money into my FR-S making it faster, etc and now I can't use it in any of the tournaments. Besides downgrading it, how can I enjoy using the upgraded FR-S that I built.

Thanks for any help.....

Do some single player races and get a lvl 4 affinity with Scion, then upgrades are free excluding body parts and wheels.

What you do is you join community races and earn money from there, that's always fun and i don't think there are any restrictions. I'm always on the Drift channel, either RWD/ just w.e... Hit me up on XBL: Flipdan92
