I dont have a FR-S yet but I would be PISSED!! I drive a truck and it doesn't get door dings because its to tall but I still hate it when people park to close or park crooked or I park all the way out in the parking lot and magically someone parks by me.

I just KNEW that he would ding my car badly as soon as he would open his door, but thankfully I was still in my car since I was waiting for my wife to pick up some food... I immediately reversed out in order to get away from him right before he opened the door. Whew!! Folks just don't think about others around them these days!

And I just thought I'd add this, but I really dislike it when people create a permanent habit of continuing to pull forward until their front tires hit / touch the curb as they are parking! I think that's similar to what was happening in the OP's situation here...
That's absolutely right. That's one of my pet peeves lately. Many people just don't seem to give a damn about anyone but themselves. They are completely oblivious to everyone else around them and they never consider the well-being of others. People need to start realizing that they are not living in their own little world and that they are actually sharing it with other humans just like them.

That looks horrible. I would rather take the scratches then have that on there 24/7

Nothing pisses me off more than finding the first door ding on a new vehicle. My xB got it on the driver sider rear door while I ran in to pick up lunch at Subway.

People don't realize dinging someones car is like stealing money from a strangers pocket, literally.

I have never acted maliciously in the past, but I do have a sharp key in my hand when I see my car dinged and possibly the perpetrator parked beside it with matching scuff paint on my door.

Just remembered a funny incident my wife and I witnessed a few years ago. We were sitting in a restaurant on Eglington Ave. Toronto (wealthy area). A middle aged woman drives up in a 5 Series Bimmer. While attempting to parallel park she bumps another new 5 Series in front then a new MB E350 in the back. THEN, she must have decided it wasn't a good spot and drove away. Maybe her husband got rich in the auto body business!

To most people its just an appliance and thus a ding or scratch is nothing to stress about. That is why taking your car to big parking lots where cars are closely parked will result in dings. The people doing it to you probably didn't even think about it and they probably would not be similarly upset if their car got a ding from you. Family haulers with kids are the biggest culprits in my experience. Are you going to beat up the 8 yr old coming out of their family SUV?

Getting all angry and worked up will do nothing to change it. Pick your parking spaces as best as you can and deal with the fact that not everyone is a car lover.

Been victim to this type of thing with all the cars I've owned.

The old dude across from my house started having problems parking a year or so ago. Me and my family make sure we park away from him or give him a lot of room.

My other neighbors on the other hand seem to not have noticed. I saw the old guy park his Odyssey in a space that would give him almost 2 feet front and rear.... But as he parallel parked, he hit the car in front and back. Over and OVER. I just watched in horror... He hit the cars gently, but hard enough to rock them.

Daily occurrence, but damn...

So I was parked inside a building when this happened and was parked no where near any other cars which is why I was so annoyed. I went well out of my way to keep my baby safe. He just pushed the car over and was going to bump into me
