Hideous.
Also, if toyota keeps the concept car body lines, they'll definitely have more people buying than if they tone it down. So I still dont see the downside?

Tbh, I'd like the front more if the front fender wasn't so over-exaggerated like a Vette, or a Viper. :<

With that front fender toned down, it becomes a much tamer yet more mature looking car. Like the MKI.

+1..... F%&K the chopped rear end, its shit house and just another typical ass end.... I know concept aint the final product but throwing the last 3 concept designs in the bin and putting tail lights like that on would be just taking the piss..... Great chop by the thread maker but NO i would not be happy if Toyota went this far...... Nor should any of the guys who have been bitching about perfection the last 12 months!!!!... My rant done.... Edit; Ichi did a great tone down of the front fender in another thread and thats the only thing i hope that changes in the production model when it comes to the body shape... Why bring out 3 concepts then change things so dramatically... Hyundai are bringing out some pretty heavy lines, so can Toyota.... And they have said that the MKIII is very close to the Production model... Will Scion U.S possibly have a different front and rear to what Japan and the UK as well as Australia etc will see???? The stamping for the parts might involve more steps to be reliable, that's all. It's a one off cost off of about 50-100k extra, which will pay for itself if the car sells more if it looks better.
Hell I think that they are reading someposts here.. The rear diffuser is a lot lower than mk2, and the fender vents dissappeared ![]() But scion or not, if this car manages to sell for 25k, it will be a hit IFF (if and only if) it looks like this (yes I like using boolean :p)

That one chop (With the celica lookin' tails) would be an amazing production version. Hahaha, man, I can't WAIT for this car to come out. 75% of this forum will be off the bandwagon because either: A) It won't have 300hp B) It won't look like the MKIII C) Both A and B It like listening to a bunch of whiny 8 year olds who couldn't get candy at the checkout because their mommy said NO! Oh well, symptoms of the age we live in I guess. And I'll be sitting here, just ![]() ![]() ![]() :b ellyroll:

I just watched the newest video commentary over at Edmunds Insideline, and the commentator said the tail lights will change.
so no, we are not getting the cool tail lights. The concept doesn't even have a working trunk lid. I fear we will get a scionified rear end........ and like other Scions, expect it to be fuggin ugly. ![]() (That's right, Scion VP, if you're reading this........ scions are ugly. Will the FRS change that?) http://www.insideline.com/scion/fr-s...s-concept.html . Last edited by dunnojack; 04-25-2011 at 04:23 AM. |

lol well u need to compare the 5-axis scion tc concept to the production version. once you realize how much changed, and u remove the same amount on the MkIII, it ends up looking like a 350z...i just hope it doesnt come to that. i really want the body lines to stay

DEAR SCION, PLEASE MAKE THE CAR HAVE A LSD STANDARD AND NOT SOME OVERPRICED DEALER OPTION. ALSO, PLEASE TRY NOT TO MAKE THE STANDARD MODEL COME LOADED DOWN WITH BULLSHIT ELECTRONICS THAT IF PEOPLE WANT SHOULD BE BUYING A CAMRY INSTEAD. FURTHERMORE, PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO KEEP THE CAR LIGHTWEIGHT. <2700 WOULD BE ABOUT RIGHT AND ACCEPTABLE. <2600 WOULD MAKE ME KISS THE SHOWROOM FLOOR AT MY LOCAL TOYOTA/SCION DEALER. LOVE, OST P.S: KEEP IT AFFORDABLE. I KEEP HEARING $25K BEFORE OPTIONS. LOWER WOULD BE BETTER. (As per a friends request). Blue is easier on the eyes mang. They'll like my message better. Wait, enough of this talking crap...
Every time I have to quote some poor deluded fool when it comes to this car's production styling, or HP figures, I'll just post this picture: To remind them of Toyota's (and hence, Scion's) priorities concerning this car's manufacture. Then I will hand them their QQ cookie, and send them on their way off the forum. Because after ALL this time (nearly 2 years) they're still stating the priority is lightweight, balanced, RWD, and they still, STILL, use the AE86 as its design base. Suck it...suck it so hard. |
