ermmm day time running lights on GT??

Hey guys, i just got my 86 this afternoon, it was jizz and it was awesome fun.

I just want to confirm whether GT 86 gets day time running lights? Ive never seen people talk about it on this AUS/NZ forum. When i was at the dealers 2 months ago to order 86, even the dealers told me it was a fog light

Personally, i find it rather awkward to have DRL on the fog light position?
The DRL is a bloody bright as hell halogen as well :thumb down:
I can already foresee the coppers pulling me over to have a go at me

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im also wondering if its normal to have a rather stiff and shallow brake?? I had a lancer coupe as my last car and it was less stiff and deeper. Is it because its still rather new?

Yup, DRL = foglights on GT

It is a bit awkward being exactly the same position as any standard foglights, but I'm hoping to counter that awkwardness by replacing the halogen bulbs with some LEDs or HIDs as I can't stand the halogen yellow light colour on a modern car!! plus it would looks more like a DRL being a bright white light in my opinion

Not sure how the cops would react to that, but if they do decide to question it, can always just tell them to refer to the user manual lol

P.S. Brakes may feel a bit 'shallow and stiff' because they still need to be bedded in?

Having said that - what are you doing on the forums, I would be out chasing the first 1600kms all night if I just picked up my 86 *jealous*

exactly!!! i can't stand they yellow colour on such a modern car, it was such a shocker when i first learnt about it today. But yea, i guess if we put some bright white light into that position, it would be awesome!

ill be doing my hundreds of KM tomorrow, perhaps to the WTAC as well haha, gonna take it easy for tonight, been a hectic day as i was scheduled to pick up at 8.30am, but some shit went wrong so i had to wait till 2pm to pick up sigh...(dealer's fault - )

The DRL's should dim when the parkers/lights are turned on. AFAIK it isn't illegal to have "driving" lights on at all as long as they are white bulbs. Yello and maybe green are illegal to have on unless it's raining/foggy as these are "fog" lights. I may be wrong, but I 90% sure
I am gonna try and work out an easy way to turn the DRl's into foggies and put HID's in perhaps

On the GT, they turn on once you turn the car on. They turn off if you turn your headlights (or parkers) on.
