In my line of work, engineering, the overhead can be up to twice as much as the hourly wage. Of course we have a lot of IT etc work that needs to happen, but still.

If this kit proves to be a reliable DD with no or little additional mods, then I think it is 100% worth 5k + tune + install.

correct me if i'm wrong too, but doing 200+ dyno runs doesn't prove its reliable for daily driving, does it?

if you warm a car up and do 50 dyno runs back to back, thats stressful to the components in a particular way, but they're also all warmed up and everything is flowing etc. its another thing to start it up every morning cold, then drive it to work in traffic, let it sit, then drive it back home. different type of stress to the components.

of course, 200 pulls on a dyno certainly shows that its working and the engine seems to have no trouble with it in those conditions, which is a good sign.

Something like that.

It's the same fuel using a different measurement method.
Minus the ethanol for us!

200 dyno pulls does a good job at proving that the engine isnt going to blow a ringland or whatnot a month after you buy the kit.

Daily driving shouldnt be nearly as stressful as long as you let everything warm up properly before getting on it(as you always should).

Thing i am worried about is -30C Canadian winters and how the kit would deal with those extreme cases.

I just spent 3 days at Don's shop getting the turbo installed and tuned. I can say with total honesty that the price is more than reasonable! We had 4 guys working on the car - it really is a lot of work involved. Keep in mind that mine was his first automatic, and we found a few differences from the manual.

But really, at this point Don and his team know the BRZ/FRS better than anyone hands down. He's turbocharged both a manual and auto, and dynoed extensively with John Visconti for results nobody thought could be done.
