I'd love for someone to make something in the black suede like material with the 86 logo stiched in red, that would be awesome.

I don't understand why we have heated seats. We're one of the few countries that really do not need them! And I am saying this on a rather chilly day in Adelaide (currently 14°C).
Its just extra weight and cost

It's just some cross-hatched rubber that I had laying around -- it was cut from the console mat out of of a previous car. Tidies up that little "useless" cubby that so easily gathers dust and scratches. Better, eh?
That is a damn good cut job my friend! I see that you have a bunch of that material left. How much to cut and ship me one?

Thin mouse pad rubber would also work.

Very nice upgrade! It seems like someone could make something pretty nice to fit into there if they wanted to.

If you're looking for a good rubber mat to put here, I highly recommend the HandStands Sticky Pad. I cut one to fit the dash of my 86 MR2 and it does a great job holding things in place at any cornering speed. Got mine for like $3 back when I worked at CompUSA.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'm not really looking to get into business to make or sell anything, but the good news is you can easily purchase your own console liner mat and make one yourself. I looked on the back side of the mat, and the General Motors part number is 15134788. Just walk into your local, friendly, Chevy or GMC dealership and have them get you one. Or, put that part number into google or ebay and you'll find a number of online GM parts vendors that you can purchase from. Less than $20 bucks. Good luck!

Cheers,

Dave
