I have received some emails from people not wanting them, so I doubt we'd fill 86 engraved models right from the start. Once these are in stock and shipping, we expect a lot more orders.

Maybe the idea should just be abandoned...I'm ok saying that since it was my idea to begin with. The whole idea of limited edition is for it to be highly desirable. Some modified clip art with numbering is not getting it done with the majority of members.

Unless Airaid wants to number a couple sets (10 each) of different colors and keep everything else production, then I'm thinking getting buy in for people to want a "limited" series is going to be more of a headache than its worth.

If the folks at Airaid are willing to offer a limited number of special units outside the scope of their normal production, especially for no additional cost, I think it would be silly to pass that up. Perhaps those that just really don't want the limited edition should consider waiting for the normal production units. To be honest being able to get the limited edition unit is one of the factors that drove me to purchase the Airaid intake over other brands.

That's my opinion on the matter. Maybe a good solution would be to have a 24-hour vote starting Thursday, with the choices being 1. FT86Club logo with pistons as liked above, 2. Just the pistons, 3. just the logo, or 4. Nothing

I would love to have something that says "Limited Edition" blah, blah, blah . . .
But this group buy, along with the Airaid rebate gets me an exceptional product at an incredibly low price. If Airaid wants to engrave something on the lid I would gladly take one. My only suggestion is Airaid make 20 (or whatever number) Limited Edition lids (with a design that they want) and make the rest plain. So the first 20 or so that PM AJUSA or AIRAID for limited edition covers get them and the rest get plain covers. I just don't want the production slowed down because 50 people can't agree on a design. Just sayin

I agree. That is what I had envisioned this going when I proposed the idea to AJUSA.

I was beginning to get frustrated with the mixed bag in this thread. Topping the ltd edition at 20 and letting Airaid do something special based on all the input in here just makes the most sense.

It is awesome that they are going to the trouble of making this group buy special by considering some sort of engraving. I'm sure they would like to sell more than 86 of these so why do numbering? Meaningless to me. Makes the engraving process more difficult doing consecutive numbering and all. Keep it simple by putting the opposing pistons symbol and "Limited Edition" nearby. The "FT 86 Club" is not that important to me to have on there but, I don't mind having it at all if the site owner's do not object.

I agree, this custom design is uber tasty icing on the cake.. although I am already very happy with the design and price! The sooner people receive their intakes, the happier they are likely to be.

Airaid, I'll be happy with however you decide to badge the box.
