Tune is another $1k, or did that come with the kit (I forget)?
Map sensor extra
exhaust extra
Any other necessary supporting mods?

Are we looking at $7k to do this right? Just want to get a ballpark idea on this.
I think his kit starts at 6k. I do not believe that the tune comes with the kit.

Comes out to about $71 per horsepower when everything is added up.

Installation and tuning usually runs upward of $1500 as well. Won't be a cheap 60-120whp.

No but it will be a hell of a lot of fun 60-120HP!

I don't see why anyone would have to pay for install? He designed the kit so that it's plug and play. It shouldn't take any special talent or special tools to get it done. jack stands, wrenches/sockets, and screwdrivers should do the trick.

Once they have the tune perfected, I don't see why they can't just email you the file.. I know every car is a little different, but I would they think would build a safe tune file that can be flashed to any ECU and run the kit easily.

Agreed on not needing to pay for someone to install the kit. IMO, if you can't install a bolt on turbo kit, you probably shouldn't be driving with it.

Also interesting numbers... with the given power, he is getting about a 76% increase in whp.
He is decreasing from around 17.2 lb/hp to about 10.1
So, this kit is also around $1k per lb/hp drop, if anyone values that at all.

In for driving vids.

We are going to be offering this kit completely installed for under 6k. No tuning is included. I'd be safe to say that 7k installed will cover it.

Regardless of it being bolt in, you have to understand there are alot of people that are not interested in installation themselves.

Wishful thinking ahha.

I'm sure this has been addressed but are you guys only adding fuel through the port injectors? Has the DI system been addressed yet?

My apologies if my post came off wrong. I was just quoting the ballpark price of what it would likely be for someone who doesn't have the ability to have you install and tune the vehicle. My tuner was quoted for a single programmer cable which I believe he said was around $350, then a single license which is $200, plus his time to tune it over the internet. So that extra cost is DEFINITELY there if potential buyers can't make it to your shop, such as me. And then there's installation. Those kind of labor hours easily exceed $100/hr around here. Installation could take 2-3 days (guessing) but don't expect under $500 for it. It's more convenient to do it yourself but safer for someone else because more than likely they will warranty the installation. I'm going the full blown route where I don't have to touch a single thing until the keys are in my hand and I drive out of the shop. More expensive yes. Less likely to break, VERY MUCH SO.

You can e-tune with John. Get a decent base map, then datalog, send, get new flash, reflash, datalog, send, get new flash, etc, etc, etc same as your tuner, but John's basemap will make the process a LOT faster and safer, plus he clearly knows this system very well now.

Now if you went Pro EFI.... :P
