Ordered 3/17, was told my ETA was "July" with no specific date since late June. Just got email stating ETA is now Aug 29.

Welp, looks like im not getting mine in august. Another member who took over an order that was backed out on and placed before mine from the same dealership was told Aug 28. same trim/trans/color. All SOA is telling me is this: Thank you for recontacting me with your dealer information. Let me do some checking with a colleague. My initial research indicates your order is on file and you appear to be on the Wait List.
I'll let you know if I learn of any additional information.

I ordered mine on June 1st. Haven't heard anything since. Dealer said late Aug / early Sept. delivery. I'm calling on the 15th to see if I have a VIN yet. If not...going to look elsewhere.

If you order now, probably not until Dec? Apparently it depends on where you live.

Here's a longer answer....you could be waiting for over a year so, do your homework.....
I have two BRZ pre-orders...one was placed around March 20th from a local dealer who only had 10 allocations. I received a vehicle order number (VON) but, Subaru does not even have have this order number in their system yet! (Because I am #11 at the dealership.) I am told, this pre-order will not even go in as an "active" one until the next "allocation" opens up with Subaru. I would speculate delivery of this vehicle would occur sometime early next year. So, to answer your question...it depends, if you find a dealer without a long waiting list you will get one of these sooner if there is the possibility of getting one pre-ordered under an "active" allocation either this first one or the next one which would open up maybe in October or November!

I was ready to "buy" last March so began searching for options, found someone on this forum backing out of an allocated pre-order for MSRP purchase price and called the dealer right away to seal the deal to take his spot but, I will have to fly on an airline, pick-up the car and drive about 1300 miles to get it home (or, pay to have it shipped)!!! I recently went from waiting status to an ETA date of August 20th but, no VIN # yet.

Bottom line is...if you are ready to buy now then you are going to have to call around to distant dealers if your local Subie dealer(s) have long waiting lists. Avoid getting on a list where you might be waiting for over a year...find out how many are ahead of you and ask how many cars was the dealer allocated this first go round? Some dealers are adding "market adjustments" to the MSRP on cars received without "pre-order" buyers or people who have backed out...so be aware of that. To get leads use cars.com or autotrader.com & follow posts on ft86club.com forums!

FR-S vs. BRZ sales deliveries up to July indicate almost 3X as many FR-S are out there vs. BRZ so it might be a shorter wait for an FR-S. Some FR-S dealers are adding "market adjustments" as well. Good luck!

P.S. Waiting for one of these cars is no fun!

Update: My ETA has changed from 8/9 BACK to "Month of August". The dealer has no idea what this means beyond it might not be here until the very end of the month.

Dealer gave me my VIN last week but could only say that car should be here end of this month or early September.
