being that this thread is so damn long, i'm sure it's been asked, but does the turbo placement have any issues when driving in snow or water? being that it's exposed in the undercarriage of the car, i'm worried that in chicago's 10 inch winter snow, that the turbo can get damaged. Any thoughts?

There seems to be a lot of focus on the final number. To me, the dyno plot looks fantastic. It's smooth and linear and adds about 50% to the stock output. For usable power, it's more about how much power it makes in the low to mid RPMs than at redline. Very well done. If that can run safely in a daily driven car, that would be precisely what this car needs.

This thread is quite long. But I'm assuming that the only modifications aside from the turbo kit are a full exhaust? Were there any other parts that have been changed (injectors, pistons, etc?)

We are not running into knock.

Any fuel economy loss at steady low load cruising conditions will be due to the turbine adding restriction to the exhaust, which doesn't seem like it's going to be a big deal. Most turbo engines "spool" well before this one does.

Under normal acceleration, engine efficiency will drop a little bit when you use boost, but again it appears there is very little boost below 3000rpm so probably not going to impact fuel economy much.

Best if they can tell you how much boost it builds in the lower engine speed ranges, and if they have any exhaust pressure readings (probably not going to be a significant increase).

Previously I had 4psi at 2800rpm. The dynojet 24" roller does not have the weighr resistance like the car. We are actually allowing the turbo to come on a bit smoother so that we do not have to much torque down low on the stock engine. All I would need to do is put a 10psi wastegate spring in it and it would come on much harder. I want to know what this will do reliably. We could always crank on it, but its not what we were after. I could post up a final run count, but i'm sure its around 170 Dyno pulls now since turbo.

Bang for the buck this kit looks damn good. It gets more and more tempting every day you guys post here. Each time there's a new post from Don or John I my want for boost creeps a bit more toward outweighing my want for warranty.

Any guess on how long the clutch will tolerate this?

This is looking really awesome.

Granted it will be quite some time before I divert any funds to this...but I am definitely looking forward to seeing how reliable this turbo / tune is along with the gas mileage.

Really fantastic work guys.

I've spent a lot of time on this calibration to make sure it's spot on.

Today we'll take Don's car on the street and continue to tweak it - WOT Performance isn't the only thing on my mind.

When all said and done this car will have my latest MPG tricks in it

John. Good work on the tuning side. Very impressive in the short time frames. Lots of other tuners are hiding numbers but hats off to you and Don for sharing all this info with the broader community.

Now..at some stage down the track will you or @don consider a stand alone ecu as the stock ecu may be limited to further enhance the tune. Mainly in relation to the DI system

I can't wait to see some more street videos in its current state... the way it ripped 2nd gear @ 4psi, I can't wait to see 10 psi.

we definitely need to see some sort of 1/4 mile run too.
