I've been filling up at my local BP using 93 octane.

Has anybody tried chasing wires for this window problem? Sounds like either a bad connection to the Window actuator, switch, or a short somewhere along the length of the wire. Maybe a loose ground somewhere.

I'm sure it does. Label on the pump says it may contain up to 10%.

Yeah i know, but it is still better than having to hold down/up the window button the whole time.
My passenger side seems to be getting worse. It only used to happen maybe once or twice when I would roll down/up the windows but recently I have been trying like 5 times and it won't work. But that is how I realized holding the window button a little bit longer at least cures the problems for the time being, until we find a fix. It is only for about another half second too, so its not that bad. |

Anybody know the part number for the drivers side switch? I'd be interested in finding out since I can already predict that the service techs will say they could not reproduce it or "That's how it works". I'll just buy it myself and change it.

That may not necessarily be possible. Depends on how the switches are designed. For instance on my Tacoma only the driver's side does auto down, so I looked into getting full auto switches. Unfortunately on the Tacoma the switches are mounted right to a circuit board so there's no way to change it. Point being, if you want to go that route your first step is to find out if it's even possible to swap out the switch.

Yeah valid point, although I thought I read on one of these threads that one guy already had his replaced and it now works as intended. Hopefully it's not an invasive procedure.
I used to go to the junkyard and pull optional parts off old Pontiacs like wiper delays or cruise controls and pop them into mine like they were legos. Probly not that easy anymore
