*Day 5 Update* So today had a decent drive almost racking up 100 miles. It was very humid outside almost 96F according to the car with high temp 100.4 according to obd2. My drive consisted of 80% highway and 20%city with about 20-25 mins traffic. Average speed today was 48.6 with the highest speed at 69mph. Today i had constant speed of 55-65mph with the highest RPM reached at 3364. Gas meter had a low value of 43.1% but when i checked at the same spot from last time it read 38.8%. Todays temp was 96.8 with high of 100.4. Currently at 260miles with a little over 1/4 of a tank left.Driving Impressions: This is the first time i drove my car in hills so to speak since the flash and i have to say i just love the car so much more now. The car has such great passing power now and it just drives so much smoother. I can cruise in this car for hundreds of miles and not complain one time. LOVING IT!
38.2mpg is now the current average thanks to traffic today Current test mileage. A little over 1/4 of a tank left Android Torque App Results |

if you really think about it im getting around 70miles at each gas meter dash, so by time i hit the gas light ill be around 320-330 miles. So i guess we are looking at about 35.5-36mpg which for me is a 6mpg gain.

*Final Update* Ok So after 6 days of driving like my grandma(actually she drives faster) and being stuck in traffic that felt like forever we reach the end of test. On 9.005 tank i reached my final mark before the gas light came on. My Final mileage was 324.0 which equates to 35.98 so we can honestly say 36mpg mixed. My best mileage before this was 29.3 which equates to a 6.7mpg increase. My dash read 35.1 at the end which wasn't that far off. If i wasn't stuck in traffic so many times this number would have been a little higher. John was looking for at least 5+ so 6.7 doesnt sound bad at all.
*Edit* Should have been more specific guys sorry for the the mix up. I only calculated from last fill up to final mileage i still have to fill up to get the real end result. sorry for the tuners and the viewers for the mix up. FINAL RESULTS(ALL 6 DAYS) HIGHWAY 80% CITY 20% AVERAGE SPEED 44.4 AVERAGE HIGHEST SPEED 64.5 AVERAGE HIGHEST RPM 3193.2 CONSTANT SPEEDS 50-60 AVERAGE TEMP 90.62F END RESULT PICS Last edited by brichard0625; 08-08-2012 at 07:48 PM. |

Did your driving habits change? I've gotten 35.8mpg on a mostly highway trip plus some acceleration pulls in city, stock. Second highest was 33.5 mixed.

Drove exactly the same. I would have gotten more but i was stuck in traffic a few times for about 15-30mins sometimes. The traffic was during highway traveling. My best was 29.3 so that is a big increase for me.

Lets all also remember that i stopped the test once the gas light came on..i actually pulled over on the side of the highway and took a picture. Thats why the hazards are on in the picture. If i were to let the needle hit E i would easily get another 30 miles and my MPG would be at around 39mpg.

WOW! This is almost too good to be true. There has to be some sort of cons. Better MPG and faster. Is there anything negative you've noticed compared to stock?
Thanks for the write up and info! |

-So far the car gets better mileage -Higher rev limit -noticeable power increase -feels alot smoother and less hesitation in the lower rpm band -torque dips isnt that noticeable anymore -Passing power has improved -no more crappy idle |

Just put on the HKS filter and took the car for a run and all i feel is this
![]() I dont know if the hks filter just makes that much of a difference or the tune just works great with a better breathing engine but the car feels like i can run a mustang right now lmao. I didnt record the runs but now im anxious to see what numbers i get |
