Are you purchasing the kit or is he just using your car as an auto donor test vehicle and then removing and going back to stock after?

I'm both the tester and a purchaser. John is also here to do the tune after.

Our dynoJet 248 reads ~30hp lower in 4th but provides the accepted ~160WHP in 3rd.

I am going to assume you are referring to a 224?

moral of the story, dynojet makes more than 1 dyno and they do not all produce the results being advertised. the 248 has significantly larger/heavier rollers
Not sure about* the drum size but I just confirmed Dons dyno does the same thing

If that's true I might be pushing 300whp with 6-7psi and other goodies I can't talk about.

Yep, I'll be keeping an eye on your build. I was interested in Dave's offering but I'm wanted to keep the car to where it can pass inspection. I was afraid that I'd go the full standalone route and have another car like my WRX -- uninspectable.

You going with a staged build-out or are you going for the full enchilada with the standalone?

It was so so so very hard to turn down the standalone build. I would've done it if I didn't fork over $6000 for body kit and wheels. For the price they offered the standalone was unbelievable. But in the end I'm only shooting for as much power as possible that the motor can reliably handle on stock internals. That may change over time though. So we're using the stock ECU but obviously tuning the bejeezus out of it. For now my minimum goal has been upped to 280whp. Hopefully that can be accomplished within the parts we have and tuning, I think it can be done but I am no expert.
