At least it has a caring new owner and is being driven as intended. We have no news on our car yet. I would hope they have the front fenders back from getting the undersides coated.Hopefully they will be painting everything this coming week and finish the car by the 2nd week in November.

Local motor, nice to see.. Not seen one in an absolute age! Back camber seems a bit strange.

Seasonal greetings my friends!! I hope all is good, no reversing into stuff!!
My new car has landed in the UK.. However, it's to be registered in March on the new 2026 plate, staying with the dealer until then. Took the plunge to have it completely PPF'd, it was picked and dropped off using a covered trailer.. The dealer is smitten with the spec, "favourite so far.." not seen it in the flesh yet.. waiting till March.. |

Not totally in keeping with this thread plus we saw the car on Good Friday rather than on a Sunday but…
A local British car club was bequeathed a Triumph Spitfire from the estate of a likeminded individual who passed away. The club have decided to auction this car via closed bids of over $5000 CAN. The wife is interested so we drove the hour to go see the car at a member’s home. It was built in June of 1980 as a 1981 Canadian model. It was sold in February of 1982 to its only owner. The car was rust proofed when new and lived in a dry, insulated garage only to be driven on sunny summer days. It has a total of 20,035 kilometers, (12,450 miles) and a very think stack of receipts for everything the owner ever bought/fixed/serviced or replace on the car. It looks absolutely great in the photos but it does have 45 years of minor scratches, chips marks and wear. Still, not something you see every day even at British car shows. The Triumph Spitfire is not as well liked as other mid-priced British sports cars such as the MGB.

Finally picked up our new motor yesterday.. 11 months following the placement of order, the car had actually arrived just before Christmas but I wanted to register it on 2026 plate so waited until March. During its stay at the dealer I had it PPF'd, complete body.

Looked at the more extreme versions but wanted something a bit more user friendly ie normal seat belts.. so went for the GTS with sports buckets and a whole load of options.. Drives really nice, much more civilised than my old Exige. Will share further views once I've added a few more miles under its Cup 2 tyres.. Last edited by JD001; 04-10-2026 at 01:53 PM. |

Really? I put a new suspension on my Exige with rear swaybar and other goodies and it rides nicer, and handles nicer.,.didn't think it was possible. Depends on your definition of civilized. |
