Just keep us apprised. Hopefully you're part of the majority that comes out fine. I'm sure it'll be totally fine

I absolutely will. I think this dealership was competent. I never wanted to get the valve springs done early on because I didn't trust Toyota techs working on my boxer engine.I think they've been doing enough of them now that I think they know what they're doing.

I did called my local Subaru dealership early on and they said that they wouldn't work on my FR-S,which I thought was very odd, considering that even though it has Scion badges, those badges, and almost every single part is stamped with Fuji Heavy Industries on it.

Anyway, been driving it for just under a week now and everything seems like it's back to nomal. It's a daily driver and I don't really push it too hard,so I'm not too worried.

Well, in the end, this didn't matter. The gasket design was unique, and Toyota actually had more of them than Subaru since Toyota sold more of the "offending" ones.

Yes, there were a handful that had issues, but for the most part nearly all were done correctly.

I had mine done for the same reason you stated, it provided an opportunity to have other labor covered. I had several things done (spark plug replacement, etc) for the cost of parts since they were already doing the work.

fixed the leaking banjo bolt mess of a Mishimoto sandwich plate. A friend gave me the cooler and I actually love it unfortunate mess Mishimoto has become.

I used a Mocal oil cooler sandwich plate from 3 car garage and had fun installing that one. The adapter nut is a bitch to install you need a low profile socket 1" which I didn't have so I ugga dugga'd it with a pair of channel lockers. Kinda scratched the bolt but fuck it.

It looks sketch cause the OEM oil filter is bigger, but the seal seated perfect. No leaks. For now If it does, I'm swapping the AN/PTFE fitting for another and will have to cut.

WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR FRS TODAY?

Err, uploaded wrong engine bay clip. Finally could put the proper clip back into the windshield fluid due to moving the oil lines

Also, if your VVT solenoid is leaking, the part is $2 +/- from your local Toyota parts dealer! 2 bolts. Be sure to lubricate w/ some oil before installing.

VVT Cam Solenoid Gasket

My oil cap gasket also was wearing out and a major source under load for blow by.

Now no more leaks

Thanks for the reply!

I was going to use the red intake silicone tube as I actually have it but I needed a block off plunger for the firewall and just decided to keep the stock acoustic tube & canister intact. It is a bit finicky if you don't have the hoses tight so make sure you do that.

It is a bit louder than stock imo and I actually may run slightly slower than stock airbox because I'm not tuned. Eventually will get flex fuel and will get the car tuned for E50.

You can see the knock correction learn value that may be from my fuel quality or actually the intake but without going into the logs and resetting my ecu that's my best guess.

I actually did not take off the entire bumper but you do need to unbolt some things to get to it.

Overall fairly easy install but you may scratch the tube if you do not have the right angle to clear the front core support.

Appreciate ya

I don't expect to get any gains, I would primarily want it for sound. I like an aggressive intake noise.
