Im holding out hope the race is okay but so far I think they made a mistake with this rule set as far as the engines. It’s like they applied endurance racing philosophy to sprint races in regards to the power units.

Haas got a 7th. That's 5 places better than what we're used to.

Two years in a row that a car has crashed out before making it to the grid.
Exciting first part of the race but it settled into the usual parade.

I thought it was pretty good. The deployment battles were something I didn’t anticipate

Racing in Shanghai this weekend.

I'm trying to recognize the city as most of it has changed since I was last there...
Sure is not the place I remember.

I do remember walking along the Bund trying to converse with the local students trying out their English on us ,
and stepping out from my group for some street photos and realized I was quite lost after loosing sight of them for
15 minutes in the bustling street crowd and not even have my hotel info on me!

We were a small 6 person group that had been assembled by my late ant visiting on a month and a half long trip around Asia.
Back in late dec 87-Jan-feb 88 We stayed in a stately hotel called Xi Jiao Guest house for a few days just the day after new years.
This was just one year before the Tienanmen square incident...
Even managed to have a few days skiing at Whistler on my return back to my planet.

... Back to racing, Some teams are still struggling with the power delivery, definitely not a given on who will dominate although MERC is still running strong.

Sprint for later tonight.
Go Lando, Go Pierre!

What happened?
The homeboy crashed out on the warm-up lap in front of his fans and was unable to race.
Besides seeing Charlie & George leapfrog each other for the first half dozen laps it was a more or less your tipical F1 race. Oh, Max did a last to 6 place comeback and complained about playing Mario cart.
AM did better than expected w Lance completing the race 15 laps back (For the data they say... )

For a great highlight these guys delivered for that race

Ahh. I went to watch some of the China stuff yesterday morning, didn't realize that Apple TV is sole distributor. We already have enough subscriptions.

Well that sucks! Up here in the Great White North I get to watch Sky Sports feeds of free practice 2, qualifying and the races plus pre and post commentaries on TSN (The Sports Network). However, I preferred watching the US races on ABC as they were “commercial free”. TSN does that annoying split screen thing for commercials with the race in a small box upper left and gawd awful adverts in a larger box center/right with louder audio.
I miss the days of "C" band satellite. I used to be able to watch the live feeds uninterrupted, most with English commentary.

I think the tighter tracks are going to be good but the Merc’s have too much of a straight line advantage right now on any track that has a long straight . The start issues that everyone but Ferrari have are just sketchy at this point. I’ll just tuning into Indy from now on.

Yea. Fortunately starting this year I get full access Apple TV as part of my season tickets to the Atlanta United MLS team. Prior to 2026 season ticket holders only got access to the MLS channel on Apple TV.

Looking forward to watching some F1 Races.
