Keyless Access System - Error

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this error which pops up as I turn off the car each time?

‘Keyless Access System Disabled
Check
Owner's Manual‘

I’ve replaced both remote batteries, but no luck.

Thanks in advance

I should add as well that everything is working fine. It’s just the error message.

Never heard or experienced that one.
Have you tried disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU and see if the error message returns?
Also, what does the owners manual say?

I remembered that I have my manual at my desk here at work lol! So I checked it for you. As predicted, not much info.

It says:

Indicates a malfunction in the keyless access with push button start system. A buzzer also sounds.

Have the vehicle inspected by your Subaru dealer immediately.

Haha yeah, manual not much help.

I haven’t tried the car battery reset. Might give that a go.

Tried the battery disconnect and also an OBD2 reader to clear the code - no luck with either unfortunately.

Any other suggestions? At the end of the day, it’s only a chime as I leave the car and everything works fine so not the end of the world.

I'd get it looked at before you are unable to get in, or start, the car.....

When you used the OBD scanner to clear the codes, was there a code there?
If so what was it?

I couldn’t see a code related to it at all.
