I'm making a parts list, so in addition to coilovers, rubber and wheels, looks like I need LCA and camber bolts. Which ones do you run? Would you recommend them? I need to keep the wheel/tire flush or sucked to the fender, else I wont pass vehicle inspection here, so the devil will be in the details

if you need to keep the wheels flush with the fender, i'd go with 8.5" wide all around, +42 offset, face 2 in the 57xtreme. probably with 235/40/18 tire size.

I'm looking at these https://www.rayswheels.co.jp/product...el=57Xtreme_XM , so I think the sizing is the same though. It says face 1 and 2 but I don't see anything in the images. I'll have to find a dealer and work it out i guess. Thanks so much for the help, I'm pretty lost in all this right now. It's my first time, and I'm dealing with the language barrier

I have finally gotten my Wheels and Am also making a part list on what I need. (gettin expensive :/) |

You'll still need LCAs to adjust camber in the rear.

5/20/17 - Installed a Marsh Power House (MPH) Fabrication GT-spec carbon fiber hood (http://www.marshpowerhousefab.com/pr...86-gtspec-hood), after seeing this thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116268 I bought it to reduce under hood temps during stop and go traffic in summer, and to increase efficiency of the radiator by increasing airflow on spirited drives. It should work the same as cutting vents in the OEM hood, which I didn't want to do. I'm not expecting it to reduce peak oil temps but to aid in coolant recovery time between pulls during occasional canyon runs. I'm leaving it unpainted (it comes with a clear coat) because it's an additional cost, it blends in pretty well with my DGM car, and if I ever need to return to stock, it's easier to sell an unpainted CF hood. Observations - it's very light and rigid. The backing structure around the perimeter makes it stiff, and it doesn't feel flimsy at all. The rear corners are slightly high (maybe 1/8"), so I've let Joel know about that for future builds. No biggie to me. All the holes for the OEM rubber/plastic seals are drilled and the seals transfer over perfectly. I got mine with the tubes to direct airflow from the NACA ducts down to the coil packs, but I haven't installed them yet. There's probably no need to install them for daily driving, but might be nice to have them for canyon runs or track. After observing both oil and coolant temps (via my P3 vent gauge) during daily driving, I notice that my coolant temps don't exceed 194°F as much as they used to. In stop and go traffic, the coolant temp doesn't rise as much as it did in hot summer weather. If it does, peak temps are a few degrees lower than I observed before, as the hot air is allowed to exit the engine compartment. Once I start moving, coolant temps drop faster than before. I've noticed oil temps seem to drop faster as well after a few strong pulls. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Happy New Year, all. 2019 was a pisser because of the WTY-84 (valve spring) recall which is required for registration in California. After waiting for more than a year to see what people were doing, I finally had the Edelbrock supercharger un-installed by CSG (who had installed it originally) in December. The car is currently at the dealership for the recall as of today. The Edelbrock is up for sale as I do not plan on reinstalling it. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138163
Also sold my MPH hood as it's no longer needed. I'll miss the supercharger for sure, but don't want to re-install it and have something happen due to the recall work. If anything happens, the dealer will point to the supercharger for sure.

Happy New Year all! I still have my BRZ - it still looks pretty damn good and people are surprised it looks so clean inside and out. It's 12 years old and I've got almost 28k miles on it now, lol. Not much, but my daily commute is only 4 miles to work.
As you can read from my last post, I returned the engine back to stock in 2020 and sold the E-force supercharger. The whole valve spring recall ordeal for the whole of 2019 really pissed me off. My wife told me 'just stop modifying your car (referencing the 280Z and BRZ) as you always have problems. Just buy a car with enough power from the start'. I was like 'You're giving me the green light to get a new car?' and she said 'Yup'. So, back in 2019, I was shopping for another car while I was going through the valve spring thing. I was looking at a Cayman or BMW M4, but I'm not a Porsche or BMW guy. So I just waited and looked. Then in July 2019, Chevrolet announced the C8 Corvette. I saw the reveal, the specs and the price, and I said 'That's it!'. I put my name on a list in Nov 2019 and a deposit/order in Dec 2019. After waiting more than a year, I took delivery of my 2020 C8 in Jan 2021. My wife asked me 'What are you going to do with the BRZ? Are you seriously going to drive the C8 to work?' I said 'That's what I was planning to do'. She asked me how much I'd get for the BRZ so we looked it up and it was about half the value (at that time) and she said 'Just keep the BRZ as your daily driver'. This also meant that she'd have to park her Subaru Outback in the street so both my cars could be in the garage. Thank goodness I married the right woman! So that's where I am now. BRZ as the daily, C8 as the canyon weekend car. My son got his license and drives the BRZ occasionally. Now I'm thankful it's back to stock without the power of the supercharger.
