Underbody Brace, Alumilite center plates

First was the TTCR-II underbody brace. A disappointed as they advertise there stuff on aliexpress as aluminum. There other braces are so far.

This was heavy at 5lbs. And I am reaching out how these threaded strips were supposed to be used it is baffling my mind right now.

Ended up using Stainless riv nuts to install until I figure out how the strips are used.

Also remade my 2 center plates with 2mm thick alumalite. This stuff is amazing near the same stiffness for half the weight of full aluminum. Plus was very easy to work with cutting and drilling.

Center plate was 4.25lbs

Rear Center plate was 2.5

Combined with the JDM covers and rear Verus diffuser/suspension covers I now have mostly all smooth underbody

TTCR-II from aliexpress did respond they slide in from the larger hole and are the main mounting setup. Using these would block my other holes used for mounting plates. I still give them an A in customer service for responding in a timely manner with pics.

Megan Rear Knuckle Bushing

I noticed when installing my Megan Trailing arms the bushing on the knuckle was very weak. I could get it flex with my hands. Found these Megan ones and there are others that look similiar probably all made from the same chinese factory but the Megan ones were the cheapest.

MRS-SC-0605

Used the burn out the rubber bushing, then sawsall the remained metal method to get the old ones out.

Had to buy the Maddox tool from Harbor Freight and used a socket to press in

They also sell the other bushing on the rear knuckle but I dont see how I can fit a press tool in there without taking out the whole knuckle

Side skirts underplates

Made smooth panels to cover all that turbulent area between the TRD side skirts and JDM panels. Basically the whole pinch weld area except kept space to fit jack stands.

This panel was cut in half to make Two 4'x1' pieces. 5.3lbs These were used in the middle.

Then Two smaller Pieces to finish the rear and connect to the JDM gas covers and almost meet the Verus suspension covers. 1.9lbs

then used .04" Aluminum to make the front. This is a little thicker and sturdier than the .02" I was using but still bendable. I designed this to block off as much air entranceways on the rear of the front fenderwell. The only hole is for the jack stands. .9lbs

Attached all good with alum rivnets added about 8.5lbs total if you include screws.

new weight 2445.5 LBS
Journey to complete bottom smoothness almost complete hoping I don't go over 2450lbs

Final Smooth Underbody

Finished my smooth underbody today.
-Made a cover for the transmission area to replace the fiberglass one
-a plate the covers most of the area for the rear diff. Left a square opening since I use it as a jacking point frequently.

Prototype transmission plate thin aluminum attacthed to stock fiberglass removed 3lbs

mY new plate with 1.5mm or .062" aluminum with intake vents (got a little crazy banging out the vents) Adds 6lbs

INstalled fully smooth underbody after the front skid plate!!

Rear DIff Cover
This covers the rear diff and connects all the Verus pieces and my alumalite center plate all together
This has a square cut to fit my jack on the diff +2lbs

Installed

And that wraps up the smooth underbody!
