Not sure any of y’all got a young kiddos, but my kiddo wanted to dress up as Mira from KPDH for Halloween. Bought the costume in Amazon, but Amazon or other places don’t really sell Mira’s Gok-do (spear thingy). So as a nice father that I am, searched around for file to print in 3D printer. The annoying thing is, all the file is like 6’ long Gok-do vs my kiddo is barely 3’ tall atm. I tried to shrink to see if that help, but sadly it didn’t. Another annoying part is, who ever designed it didn’t really think of how to attach the each part together. In the end pretty much redesigned most of it along w figure out how to attach each parts AND how to put LED to make it glow. After few trial & error, currently printing last 4 parts… which prob take about 4~5 days. After that I’ll assemble and ready to go!
Am I bragging? Just a lil… cuz this shit wasn’t easy just using free 3D design software. Now if my kiddo don’t get excited, I’ll prob cry inside lmfao |

No single piece of software does everything you need and none of them seem to want to work in conjunction with each other. I realize that the 3D printing world is mostly supported through open-source software, but it seems anytime I want to do something, I have to do it in another piece of software, or software that hasn't been updated in half a decade, and none of them work the same.

My son has a 3d printer. He does his warhamer, and other game playing figures. I may have him do some corner light deletes for my lotus.
Stinks when those things are "printing". |

He's doing great. Quit smoking a while back. No drama, no gum, nothing. Amazing!

I got his old printer (which I gave him as a gift) when we upgraded him to a faster one last Christmas. Most of what I have done have been "practical things" that always seems to be be just a little too big for the small "starter" printer. I've designed and printed some replacement parts for an old Pa*****o that my Mom bought for me at a rummage sale when she visited us in 1996, some adapters for a tension style babygate to work on case openings, and now I'm in the middle of "upgrading" the fencing for MomHawk's Christmas Village Your son must have a resin printer rather than a filament one. Filament doesn't seem to produce much of a smell but resin ones definitely do.

My son did a lot of research before he bought his first one. I think the resin printer does the tiny detail of his miniatures best. The detail is amazing for such little figures.

Yea, if I was printing a lot of figurines I would want resin as well. Also, nice detail work on the painting. Wish I had that patience/talent.
