My nephews were playing and one of em hurt himself. He complained stating “When I do this, it hurts.”, so I told him “Then stop doing that.” His response “Oh! Why didn’t I think of that?” Then moved on playing forgot about the injury…

Oh how I wish, my body can instantly heal. Just sleeping wrong way kill my neck for several days.

All we need to do is extend the length of our telomeres so our cells can divide again. If we can make Dire Wolves we can get a simple gene fix. No need to change anything just a refresh. I don't need to live forever but at least let me stay young and healthy until I get hit by a car or something.

Laid off by "Larry I'll never be able to spend this amount of money Ellison" on Aug 13th. Sept 9th, accept verbal offer for a 6-month contract (gotta keep cash coming in while I look for full-time although they mentioned this could go full-time), this morning, Umbilical Hernia Repair surgery.

Surgery went well, don't feel too bad, other than feeling like I was kicked in the abdomen by an MMA fighter......I suspect tomorrow will be worse. I had originally planned on waiting until the end of the year to continue losing weight, but the "RIF" meant I wanted to get in on the benefits while I still had them.

Start the new job Sept 23rd. I couldn't start any new job before the 23rd or Oracle would revoke the severance. I don't know how they would have known, but I wasn't willing to risk 13 weeks of pay and a month of Cobra. This also allows me to take all my unused vacation, small RSU bonus that vests this Friday, and my severance and put it all in the bank.

They laid us off on Aug 13th, but actual separation date is Sept 22nd. So I've been keeping pay and benefits since. According to WARN filings, they have already filed so another layoff for Oracle employees is coming in a few weeks. This already after a few rounds just since August 13th.

Larry Ellison is just a little to one side of John McAfee (the anchor point) on the "creepy guys that made their money in IT" scale.

Sorry to hear about your job woes but sounded like you will land on your feet.
