The sidewalls are kinda soft on the A052 so the steering feel is not that great but they are almost mandatory to be competitive in AutoX anymore. Or the RE71RS. Light car like the Lotus the sidewall may not be as noticeable.

The wife has been looking at getting a little sporty car of her own. She has thought about Sprite's, Midget’s, B’s, Triumph’s we even looked at a Europa. Most run on 13” wheels. Many Seven owners, (Lotus/Caterham/Birkin/Westfield/etc.) prefer 13” wheels and run taller sidewalls. All these makes have forums where a major thread topic is devoted to finding tires for their preferred wheel size.

If I was going to get a small "vintage" sports car, there's only one thing I would buy, a MK1 MR2, which ran on 14" wheels. Man, I miss that car more than any I've ever owned.

As seen hanging off the mirror of a 1976 Gremlin at my local Car Cruise Night.
