Installed the MCA TMv2 along with STI trailing arms and subframe bushing inserts. Ride quality is much better. As others have said, feels like a properly sorted car now. I haven't tested balance at the limit since the street offers little room for that but the couple of turns I can play with on the way to work seem to suggest improved rear traction out of a 20mph right hand turn so... that's a good sign. I elected to simply bend the handbrake bracket to accommodate. Keep in mind that as the suspension compresses, the bracket pinches the brake cable even harder. So I jacked the knuckle up to ride height while I bent the bracket in a bench vise and test fit several times. Then I test fit with my ARC8/R-S4 for clearance. Had over an inch of room so that wasn't a problem at all. The bracket ended up really only limiting lateral movement of the brake cable. Seemed a good result since I expect actual suspension compression would obviously make the angles even worse. Very happy with this mod. The change in ride quality is enough that even if this induces understeer, I'm happy to correct that by other means. I don't want to remove this mod from the car. Even after installing all these parts at once, and loosening the subframe to do so, I'm surprised to find the alignment feels unaffected. Haven't measured it yet as I already planned to realign in a few weeks, but it feels like maybe the rear toed in just a hair. I had a very rough 0 toe setup before which drove like a 0 toe (hint of wondering on highway), but after the install it seems a bit more centered now. I plan to return to 0 toe anyway. Just wanted to note that the alignment is, for most purposes, unaffected. |

I bought the Cusco 965 935 A steering rack bushings for and it didn't come with any grease. I'm used to seeing PU bushings from other brands come with a small packet of grease, so is it not required when installing these bushings? The installation instructions don't mention anything about grease either.

How in the world can I stop the Brembo GT calipers from squealing? Grease doesn’t work at all, I can’t even look at the brake pedal without them making noise. Pretty insane actually.

XP12’s currently. I’ve ran this same compound on the base calipers and while they weren’t super quiet, they weren’t this embarrassingly loud.
I’m thinking of grabbing a set of 1521 or GS1’s but I’m worried even those won’t be quiet as I’ve read of people using your average ceramic of semi-met pads but still dealing with a crazy amount of noise. |

Any experience shims with the Brembos? FWIW I have the CSG spec Brembo GT calipers on blank rotors and XP12’s. |

That's unfortunate. I did swap to blank discs in my GT 6005A kit a while ago and it get noticeably quieter even with Ferodo DS Uno pads. On Brembo Xtra pads it almost never makes any noises even unlubricated.

So prior to this I was aligning the car with strings but without a way to reduce friction so I was just lifting the car, making a change based on the difference between ground and airbourne measurements, then re-measuring on the ground. Front was no problem. But the rear was a fight I couldn't explain.
Then I finally got some alignment plates and built wheel stands. The amount that rear toe and camber affect each other is giving me flashbacks to working at a shop and trying to align NA/NB Miatas. Also, holy crap does driver weight affect passenger side camber. First alignment attempt was also without weight and the right front was locked down at -2.5. With driver weight, it measured -3.0. This is on imported STI pink springs. Driver side didn't seem to move as much with weight. |
