The only thing shown was the G's Sports...and that was more or less to show what the tuner community could do with the car. Not only that but G's is a tuning partnership with Toyota in -JAPAN-.

The only thing thats official is 2.0L N/A boxer mated to 6 speed MT, or AT w/ paddle shifters.

Even if other markets get a turbo variant, don't hold your breath on it reaching American shores. The track record for entry level and low-priced sports car's having the turbo versions imported isn't very promising, though from Toyota, more promising than other Japanese automakers.

The fact that its being sold as a Scion over here doesn't really help much either. Scion doesn't have different trim options and packages for cars, rather, base models that can be accessorized with dealer add-ons. For a brief period a S/C was offered for the tC....but that was VERY brief, and hasn't been brought back since (I think it was '05?).

I, for one, hope they sell a turbo ver in the states if for no other reason than to get the straight line people to shut up.

Though I think a 'from the factory' turbo version is off the table now that it IS going to be a Scion. Like I said....dealer installed add-on...probably for ~$5500-$6000. Something ridiculous.

Even then, at was psi? 3? 4? Can't just slap a turbo on a N/A tuned engine and call it quits...gotta keep it within safe levels for the warranty!

Everything about this car is sex...aside from the ugly scion stamped in the back. And I hate to say it but the tail lights are gonna have to be changed, otherwise the trunk can't open.

The car looks decent, though the Scion styling and re badging are overkill. Honestly badging it as a Scion is a buzz kill for me. I own an MR2 Turbo, several have friend's Supra Turbos. I know people with Celica All-Tracs, and even AE86's. These are all great TOYOTA sports cars. I am a TOYOTA enthusiast, not a Scion enthusiasts. This car was suppose to represent the legendary Toyota sports cars of the past. None of those were Scions, and I know as an MR2 enthusiasts, if you tried to re-badge an MR2 as a Scion we'd all blow a fuse. IMO rebadging this car as a Scion is a slap in the face to Toyota's sports car heritage, a slap in the face to all those cars and the enthusiasts who follow them. It's saying "we don't care about you or history." I mean, you're going to honor past Toyota's by making a car which isn't called a Toyota? That's just stupid. As I said, try rebadging an SW20 MR2 or MKIV Supra as a Scion and see how owners take it. At least the rest of the world is getting a Toyota badged product, so it can be re-badge it as a Toyota. I guess to get a Toyota you'll have to go "EDM" or "JDM on it. I think I'll hold out for the Subaru, it's not a Toyota badge wise, but neither is a Scion. I'm a Toyota enthusiasts, but this isn't a Toyota in the states...it's a Scion. That just kills it for me. At least if Subaru releases a variant, there's a good chance it'll be turbocharged and AWD.
