Hazard warranty on tires

In the FWIW category.

I ordered a set of Champiro tires from an online dealer. The price was good and shipping was free. After I paid, I noticed that a $111 hazard warranty had been applied to the total. I immediately called the dealer and, after a 15 minute wait, was told that they would contact the insurance carrier to get the charge removed. He sent me a confirmation email, then explained that I could have "opted-out" of the warranty before checking out.

Just a warning to folks buying stuff to be aware that you need to scrutinize the ticket before hitting the payment button.
